How long were you and DH together before getting engaged? hmmm...I think 3 years or right at it.

Did you help pick out the ring? In a roundabout way I guess so...his mom had asked for examples of rings that I liked, and then his sister and her jeweler helped build a ring based on B's budget and my likes...
If not, were you happy with the ring?
How long after the proposal did you have the wedding? Right at 10 months
How did he propose? In a game of "hot vs. cold" basically. I knew he had the ring...and we were leaving for a cruise soon, and his mother wanted us engaged before we left... LOL, so I started threatening to rip the house apart to find the ring...
What was your first thought the day after the wedding? I honestly don't know...probably "let's get these thank you notes done"....and I had them done in a week. We took a week between the wedding and honeymoon, so it was GREAT to leave for the honeymoon and not have to worry about the thank yous...
How long were you and DH together before getting engaged? Almost 8 months..yeah pretty quick but then we had a 20 month engagement
Did you know he was going to propose? I had a pretty good idea...but bless his little heart he's not real great with keeping secrets even though he tries.
Did you help pick out the ring? inadvertantly (sp?) we were in the jewelry store and the lady was showing me the loose diamond and then I was looking at bands..but I thought he was just getting an idea. A few weeks later he proposes and then tells me the diamond was literally the one I had held and that he had went back that day and bought the setting that I liked the most and had her put that diamond in it

How long after the proposal did you have the wedding? we got engaged Nov 5 2004 amd married July 1 2006 so roughly 20 months
How did he propose? took me on a carriage ride around downtown Florence and then actually asked me in front of the fountain at UNA
What was your first thought the day after the wedding? I was glad the wedding is over...20 months was too long for us to be engaged lol!

Did you help pick out the ring? We had been ring shopping a lot lately and I picked out about 5 rings that I loved, then he went back w/his mom and bought one of the ones I had picked

How long after the proposal did you have the wedding? about 8 months. It was originally going to be about a year and a half b/c I wanted to get married in Las Vegas, yet when that went out the door, we moved it up to August so we could get married at the beach.
How did he propose? We were getting ready to go out to dinner, not really anything to celebrate, DH had been really busy with wrk lately, so he just wanted to take me out. Well he couldn't find a shirt to match his pants, then he left his good shoes at the shop, so he was really flustered before we left. He was like, I can't take it anymore. He proposed at the apt that we shared. He originally was going to wait till we got to the restaurant, but just couldn't wait.
What was your first thought the day after the wedding? I don't remember, probably something like, let's go, we gotta get to Jamaica, LOL.

Did you know he was going to propose? nope...well, I thought maybe...but figured he wouldn't do it on our anniversary

If not, were you happy with the ring? eh...wasn't crazy about it at first...its beautiful and the stone is practically flawless, but I would have done it a LITTLE differently. I love it now, though.

How did he propose? After our anniversary dinner, we walked though this garden arbor and he got down on one knee...very traditional
What was your first thought the day after the wedding? Thank goodness that's over; lets go to Rome!

Did you help pick out the ring? Nope!! I told him what I liked and that was about it!
If not, were you happy with the ring? I LOVED the ring! I couldnt' believed he picked it out all by himself!

How did he propose? Well we always go to the Oprymills outlet around Christmas time and we also go see the lights at the Opryland Hotel! We left that morning from his apartment( his brother and his girlfriend went with us)! We walked around all day and then decided to split up so we could buy presents for each other. Well when we met them back up we decided to go look at the lights! We got in the room where all the lights are hanging from the ceiling and he gave me a photo book. He said I made something for you! I opened it and it had pictures of him holding letters in places that were meaningful to us( example: my apt, restruarant we went on our first date at) I finally go to the end and the last picure was him on one knee in the exact room we were in! I looked up and he was down on one knee with the ring! It was so magical!
What was your first thought the day after the wedding? Oh my gosh I'm married and I have to get on a plane today!( It was my first time on a plane)

How did he propose? He took me to eat and then to Big Spring Park in Huntsville. We walked around and we were about to leave and he said he lost a $20. So we were looking around for it. (I was getting on to him b/c he had a $20 just in his pocket and not in his wallet.) When I turned away he knelt down and I turned around and saw him and started crying. He had the ring box in his hand. I started crying and he said really sweet things and asked me to marry hime.
What was your first thought the day after the wedding? Let's go to Mexico!

6. i surprised him with a trip to go see his favorite college football team. He proposed at the football game. I kept telling him it was no fair cuz his surprise was better!

How did he propose? He created a display in the Bham Museum of Art with a ring and description card professing his love for me and his proposal.
What was your first thought the day after the wedding? It's over! And burn the wedding to-do lists, and I did that as soon as we arrived at Gatlinburg.

Did you know he was going to propose? Yes, I found out by accident...I checked his email for a phone number or something and sutmbled across pictures of my ring! I felt so bad, but I didn't tell him I knew. I still didn't know when he was going to propose.

How long after the proposal did you have the wedding? 11 months, got engaged 4/20/07 and married 03/08/08
How did he propose? He told me we were going to Samford Hall to take pictures for our mothers for Mother's Day. Little did I know, he had picked out the perfect spot on a bench to sit me down. I was oblivious to the whole plan and kept trying to scope out new photo spots. He finally sat me down, took a close up shot of my face, and stayed down on his knee! I was so shocked...I don't even remember what all he said!
What was your first thought the day after the wedding? Not much, I was pretty much on autopilot from only getting 2 hours of sleep that night, and then we had a catastrophe with Delta and they caused us to miss our boat...we were stuck in Miami for 2 days! We only got to go on 5 days of our 7 day cruise.

How did he propose? He came home, sat down next to me on the couch, muted the tv, and said "Can I ask you a question?" I said "What?" then he said "Will you marry me?" while holding the ring out to me. I know, not too romantic, but that's James.
What was your first thought the day after the wedding? This is the beginning of a great new life.
