Girl! On my phone but I'll post pics later. Was a bit bummed at first since I'd convinced myself it was a boy. But totally excited! At target buying some cute girl stuff!
Re: It's a .....
Yay!! How exciting! I was totally sure this post was going to say boy too!
Now let the fun baby shopping begin!
Married the love of my life on 1-21-12. Our princess arrived on 5-28-13.
It is great to know. I'm having a hard time adjusting to calling the baby "she/her". To me it's still "the baby". I was honestly a little worried about telling anyone the sex. At the end of the appointment the tech said she wasn't sure since baby was keeping her legs closed. The tech started talking about coming back in 4 weeks. I was feeling really sad, I mean 4 weeks? Why not 1 or 2? I asked her if she could try again, and she finally got a between the legs shot. To me it looks 100% girl. I need to get it scanned in so you guys can see.
The tech was like "I'm about 80% sure it's a girl". So DH asked her "what are the chances of it being a boy. You know, something appearing since we're already 18 weeks?" The tech said extremely small, if there isn't a little boy part there already, it wouldn't be there. After she said that she adjusted her statement to say she was 90% sure it was a girl.
I'm thinking she was trying to be careful not to say 100% "just in case". At the beginning of my appointment she asked for my due date and made several comments about the best time to take the measurements and find out the gender is at 22 weeks. I asked her why they scheduled me at 2 days shy of 18 weeks if that was the case. She said most doctors like to do it at 18 weeks so they were going off of what my doctor requested.
Grrr. So frustrating. I'm 99% sure it's a girl so I decided to tell everyone. I asked DH if he thought we should go back in 4 weeks to get a confirmation done again. He doesn't think so which kind of surprised me. I know he was really bummed it wasn't a boy. He wanted a boy first. And well he's got all nieces, so I know he was just ready for a little boy in the family. He's happy the baby is healthy and I know he'll be wrapped around her little finger.
I'm glad the tech was able to give you a probablility of 90%. That's better than 80%. My hubby will be upset if we find out we're having a girl too. For some reason he wants a boy first.
