What are you getting DH for Christmas?

I need help.

My DH first said he wanted the iPhone 5 and then two days later he said he wanted a PS3 and then I asked him last night what he wanted and he said "nothing".

As of right now, I only know for sure that I am getting him cologne but I'm lost on what else to get him.

Maybe hearing what you ladies are getting your DH I can get some ideas.

Hope everyone is having a good week and it's almost Friday... YAY!!!

Re: What are you getting DH for Christmas?

  • I've just been listening for random things that he says he wants for the past couple of months. Like about 2 months ago he borrowed all the Harry Potter movies from my friend and then she told me that he wanted them on blu-ray but wasnt going to spend the money on them himself so I remembered that and bought him the 8 disc film collection on blu-ray(on ebay and accidently won 2 copies of it, oops). I just hope he doesnt make me watch them with him :/

And he's a big huge Alabama fan and he likes the polo that his brother has which is just black with the red 'A' on the chest so I found one similar and ordered it.

We just got the Wii U for ourselves as an early Christmas present and i heard him talking to one of his friends on the phone saying he will probably get Assassins Creed III for it just to see how it looks on the Wii so I'm planning on buying that closer to Christmas if he hasnt already bought it.

And he's really been wanting a Wok so I was planning on getting that but his brother works at Kohls and gets a good discount on it so he told me he would handle that.

What I'm having a hard time with is suggesting things that I want for Christmas. He keeps asking me but I really have no idea what I want/need. I have him isn't that enough :)

  • No joke, I took notes since September.

Pasta maker, duvet cover, beard trimmer, meat tenderizer, flannel work jacket, sweat pants, new sweaters, slippers, polo, and thermal long sleeve shirts.

SPOILED! But, there is a purpose to each gift, he reallllly needs every single item.

DH was not ready for IUI so we waited

    BFP 7/6/14~~~EDD 3/14/15~~It's a girl!!~~
  • He broke his wedding ring months ago, so I'm replacing it. Now I just have to keep him from getting himself a new one in the next month.
  • DH & I set a limit for each other cuz we're trying to save for a house. I usually go way overboard :)

So this year I got things he actually needed:

-Sunglasses (athletic ones since he's a marathon runner)

-Gloves he can use the iphone with

-He's obsessed with the Ohio Buckeyes and has been wanting some swag so i got him a tee shirt and winter hat

and then we're just doing stocking stuffers, so i got a few groupons to dinner and movies, and the usual tooth brushes, axe, lotto tickets, etc.

Aaaww that's really sweet!!! I have been suggesting a lot of things, hopefully he remembers. Haha!!!

  • I think I might give him some money towards finishing his tattoo. I'll probably also stick some lingerie in his stocking. He's pointed out a few things that he'd like to see me wear. ;)

  • Like a lot of other PP's, I've been listening all year and taking notes on anything and everything he has wanted. So here's what I ended up getting:

-New Oakley Sunglasses. His parents dogs attacked his old ones and he tried to salvage them for the longest time, but he ended up throwing them away and has been using his really old ones since. Then a few months ago our puppy got to them, and made them almost unusable. So I ended up him this one early so that I knew he would be able to see when driving. :)

-New Black Headlights for his truck. He's been talking about painting his current ones, but was too nervous to do it, and didn't want to spend the money on pre-painted ones. So I bought it. He totally knew what it was after I wrapped it, because it's a huge box, but he still has to wait until Christmas to get it. :)

-A new trimmer/razor. He dropped his and now has it rubber-banded together...

-Cologne. I actually bought him the same cologne for our second Christmas together, and he is just now running out of it. :)

    -A few T-shirts.

    -Accessories for his iPhone

I spent easily $250 on him, because I LOVE Christmas and spoiling him. I feel like he always spoils me, so I want to do the same. :)

Like another PP said, I had a hard time giving him ideas, but he came up with something on his own. I have no idea what it is. :)

  • I'm at a loss, because everything he has mentioned he wanted, he has backed out of! He said he didn't like the iPhone 5 anymore and was ok with the 4s he already has, and he said the PS3 would bore him in a week :-/

  • We just moved into our first house and I plan to get him compact fridge for his entertainment room, tools as in drill bits and screwdriver set, a couple of sweaters and new cell phone. I usually put razors, beef jerky and candy in his stocking.

If that was us, I would probably get him at least one of those anyway. He did want it so why not give it a try? And you can always return it after Christmas if he decides he really wouldn't use it. FWIW I love my iPhone 5!

  • H would love an iPhone 5. He's not getting it yet as we got the 4s to recently.

ive been listening to what he says and watching for things he may need. So far I bought him a casual long sleeve button up. Also bought him a pass to a rock climbing gym, got it on groupon. I'll get him a couple little things but don't know what yet.

  • My husband is really into fishing so I got him a nice fish cutting set and a fly fishing rod.

We've reached the point of buying food for each other since we don't need anything.  I'm going to get H a ginormous bag of his favorite beef jerky from Costco. Glad I'm not the only one who does this sort of thing.

I'm making a couple clothing items for him.

New bottle of wine or booze he hasn't tried yet.

And I confiscate anything he buys for himself from Thanksgiving on.  He's got a couple hobbies that I can't keep track of what he likes, wants, needs, dislikes, already has, etc.  So he gets to pick those out himself.

  • My husband is in the Air Force, and lately he's been eyeing and commenting on stuff about a watch that would go great with his Blues. So I'm getting him that and hoping he doesn't get it himself since we live apart at the moment lol

Other than that I just stick with thing's I KNOW he would love and appreciate and/or could use and such :)

  • DH and I don't celebrate Christmas (we're Jehovah's Witnesses), but we do a gift exchange about once a month. It just kind of turned into a tradition after we got married (since we used to get each other gifts every month for our anniversary). This month, I am going to make him some nice silk skinny ties, and then splurge on some new Express button-up shirts for him for work and church. Last month he got a fun gift- Assassin's Creed III for PS3.

Some things he can always use/always asks for: razor cartrige refills, nice running socks, sunglasses, shoes (he has more pairs than me!!!), and candy. Some future gifts I am saving up for are: a nice watch (he collects them), a tool box (this will be his present when we finally get a house), and a new suit (this is usually his wedding anniversary gift).

GL on shopping for your hubbies!!

Does he have a favorite restaurant or something he's always wanted to do (go to a concert, visit a national landmark, go skiing, etc)? Maybe you could get him a gift card to a restaurant or get a groupon or certificate for skiing lessons, etc. You don't have to settle on getting him a physical gift, just think of something he would like that either he could do solo or you both could do together.

  • DH is very hard to shop for as he is the type of person that finds something he wants and goes out and gets it the next day. I'm not doing anything too crazy for him because I did a big surprise party for his birthday which was 11/16, and last year I spent a lot of money on a tablet (he had been mentioning wanting one for months), and he has barely used it Hmm So far I have gotten him the board game Mancala, a beanie hat that has built in speakers you can plug your iphone into, a small table tennis set, and some Boston Bruins stuff for his stocking. I plan on getting him The Avengers dvd and Halo 4 and might break down and get him a SodaStream, haven't decided yet.
  • My DH wants a 2013 Toyota Tundra, but he's not getting that. Other than that, I have no idea about what he wants.

I'm pretty sure if you were able to get that for him, you would be labeled best wife ever. LOL

What are your H's interests? Maybe we can help you pick something.

  • I am getting my husband a 3-some. He has always commented how cute my friend is , so I have already set it up for us 3. He will be so surprised and it will be alot of fun
  • I am thinking a tablet. He has been talking about one for a few months now. He really like the Hatfield and McCoy's movie on the History Channel. We had to delete it from our DVR to make room for other stuff, but I might buy it for him.

Speaking of tablet, my DH just told me he wants the mini iPad so I think that's what it's gonna be :)

  • I had planned for months to get him the complete set of James Bond on DVD that he's been wanting forever but a couple of weeks ago he bought a set of the first three. I'm having a hard time because of the budget that we set. I'm getting him a pair of shoes he wants, but they eat up most of the budget and he knows about them so that's boring and doesn't leave me much left for other gifts. I like giving surprises better.
