Updates...on so many things.
Last week we had our first doctor's appointment for the little one. After DH had the crap scared out of him with all the tests and genetic questions with the nurse, we met with the doctor who spent a total of 10 minutes with me and put DH behind a curtain while she did a pap. She said to DH "You already did your part". Never asked him his name.
I may look for a new OB. I wasn't happy. We get to hear the heartbeat the first week of July, if it goes like this one did I'll be finding a new doctor.
Our Uncle is hanging on barely. His kidneys are shutting down and he's on dialysis. It's not looking good and I'm really hating that I understand medical issues much more than H does. He didn't realize that his uncle wasn't breathing on his own while on the respirator. I can't even imagine how DH will handle his passing. They've gone to hundreds of baseball games over the years and he learned how to navigate NYC from him. DH has never lost a close family member.
With all of this going on, I really haven't been on much so I hope everyone is doing well!

I'm so sorry girl, that's a lot to go through right now in the early stages of your pregnancy. I have a similar situation with DHs grandpa. He's a diabetic, and has already had a couple strokes over the past year. He's really started to lose his mind, like wetting himself in the store and not realizing it, and I know it's been hard on DH. It's hard to enjoy pregnancy when you're worried about a family member. His grandpa would also be the first close person he would have lost. And It's hard on me because I worry about DH and I really care for his grandpa. I know this isn't as extreme as the case with your DHs uncle, but Im here if you want to talk. And I will be thinking of your family.
Also FWIW, my first appointment wasn't amazing either, but the rest of the appointments have been great. I hope it's the same for you. You deserve to have a positive pregnancy experience.

I'm sorry you weren't happy with your OB. Certainly look for a new one if you guys aren't happy, but I'll cross my fingers that you are pleasantly surprised at your next appointment.

I hope the OB is more personable at your next appointment. I do think what she said to your DH was a little rude, maybe she was having an off day. I switched practices at 20 weeks, so it's no big deal if you don't switch right away.
I think your doctor was definitely rude to your DH and I'd be considering another doctor, too.
