Re: Ten Things Tuesday
1. I am irrationally upset that DH will not come home to check the attic. There is something up there, and I am convinced it is going to come down the steps to maul L and me.
2. My car was inspected yesterday and cost a lot more than we thought it was going to cost. Blah! I hate car inspection time.
3. It is so hot here. I really want to take L for a walk, but I think we should probably wait until later this evening when the heat index isn't as high.
4. DH and I want to take a small trip to the beach with L over the 4th of July, but we can't find hotel rooms that are reasonably priced. We would usually just go another weekend, but DH has an extended weekend for the 4th this year.
5. I haven't worked out in over two weeks.
I can't think of anything else.
1. Nap time came a little earlier than usual. I think because she went to bed a little late last night and was up at 1 and 3.
2. For the last couple days Ava Nichol has wanted to get in her bed before she is all the way to sleep and fall asleep on her own. This is bittersweet. I love holding and rocking my baby girl to sleep but I know we have to make the transition eventually.
3. I have a really hard time finding quick and easy but also healthy meal options for myself. Most days I skip breakfast and lunch and end up snacking instead
4. I love the show David Tutera's My Fair Wedding!
5. My eyes hurt today. I hope it doesn't mean a migraine is coming.
6. I have decided that I need to make time for myself and that DH can deal with Ava Nichol after dinner sometimes if I want to scrapbook or take a bath.
7. I am all out of iced coffee
I need to wash the pitcher, make more coffee and buy more creamer.
8. I am feeling lazy today. It is a bare minimum kind of day.
9. I am so grateful that my mom took Ava Nichol yesterday and I was able to unpack everything from our camping trip and get out house put back together.
10. I have been trying to make time to read again. I really miss reading.

1. My break outs are starting to p!ss me off. I look like a teenager.
2. My new nephew has the chubbiest legs on earth. My SIL refers to him as Java the Hut (out of love of course). I've never seen so many rolls. He's adorable
3. I'm becoming impatient about our formal announcement. Close family knows but I'd like to announce our good news to the world! We are waiting until after my sequential screening on July 5th.
4. Last night, 11 houses in our area lost power. Ours was one of them. It was out from 3pm to 12:45am. Total BS.
5. I discovered today that pregnant brain does actually exist. I got about 35 minutes into my 40 minute drive to work only to realize I left my purse at home. I had all the other essentials (lunch, phone, keys, water bottle and snacks) but I feel like a moron.
6. Today is my mom and stepdad's 8th wedding anniversary. After my parents being divorced almost 10 years, I still hold resentment for the way things went down between them.
7. I found out yesterday that my cousin is pregnant with her fourth child and due three weeks before me. I'm so excited for her but I feel guilty. There is small part of me that feels disappointed that she is due before me. She's the favorite grandchild on my dad's side (my grandparents don't even attempt to hide that) and after all we went through, I feel like when we announce, my dad's side is just going to be like, "Oh, that's nice."
8. I'm sorry my 10 are so negative this week. I've been feeling pretty down lately.
9. Our good friends and their three kids are coming to visit us the weekend of the Fourth of July. Very happy about that
10. Tonight my DH is golfing with his dad and I have the house to myself. To be totally honest, I'm happy about this. I'm going to do laundry and continue to deep clean the house. Right now, I feel like we are a mess.
1. I almost got in an accident last night, due to someone cutting me off to get two lanes over...Scared the crap out of me because it's raining here and I started to slide when I slammed on my brakes...Honestly I don't know how we didn't hit each other...
2. I got a free hot chocolate this morning from Chevron. Definitely a good way to start a new day.
3. I love plain bagels toasted with cream cheese from Starbucks. That's been my breakfast lately at work.
4. I felt so proud of myself for staying all 8 hours at work yesterday (I've been doing 5-6 hour days), but was quickly reminded when I got home why I wasn't doing full days anymore...I could barely walk my sciatica was so bad. I just wish DH would stop being a jerk and would believe me when I say sitting at my desk at work all is killing my back, and I need him to pick up the financial slack.
5. Sciatica has always been a problem for me, but this pregnancy has made it far worse. I am in pain every single day, and some days (like yesterday) I literally walk like an old lady around the house because it hurts so bad.
6. My mom got a large bag of baby girl clothes from a family friend, and there were some really cute outfits in there! There was also a couple hats and mittens. I love getting cute clothes for my little one, especially when it's free.
7. Some of my biggest bills will all be hitting this next paycheck...Seriously? Why can't at least one of them wait until next pay day?...It's over $350 and it's only 3 bills...Car Insurance, Water and Sewage...
8. DH and I originally planned to join accounts this month, but now he is hesitant because it will make it harder for him to keep track of how he is spending his paychecks, but with my hours being reduced, and with returning from maternity leave only a couple days a week, I can't keep having the bills come out of my account (He pays mortgage, and I pay the utilities, etc). So we need to sit down and figure this out. I'm starting to really stress out over this...
9. I'm a little worried about my cousin. She is currently 23 weeks pregnant, and at her a/s they saw two cysts on her little boy's brain. She also has something wrong with her uterus I think. If you have any extra T & Ps, she could use them...
10. I feel really emotional lately. I just wish I could cry it out already...
Nicklet - I would be scared if I heard something in my attic too! I hope it's just a bat or bird and that DH will take care of it ASAP when he gets home.
Wiggy - That is a great show! I'm a sucker for Four Weddings and Say Yes the the Dress.
Penn - I totally hear you! My face has been so oily! And my entire belly is covered in little red bumps...
I totally get it. As my dad said the other day though, it seems like people are actually more excited about a pregnancy when it's the first child. It's sad to say, but it's true. So you may be getting a lot more attention than what you think.
Also, think about it this way, your LO will now have a cousin close in age and you basically have a built-in play date.
What an odd comment for your mom to make. That would irritate me too. I hope EVERYONE you invited shows up to your shower. Maybe that will teach your mom to keep those comments to herself.
I hope we do get the attention our LO deserves. Raspberry is truly a blessing.
I would love for the two of them to grow up together but they are moving to upstate NY, which is about 5-6 hours from us depending on traffic.
1. Work is really stressing me out, I'm pretty sure I'm burnt out and I need a break. I'm scheduled to be there all summer, I'd look for something else but with needing maternity leave it's not worth it.
2. I'm exhausted and cranky. I pity DH when he gets home.
3. Remember how I said my m/s was gone? She's an evil b1tch.
4. I think school should be year round, so I wouldn't have to get screwed financially in the summer. (Sorry, teachers)
5. The maintence guy from my building is hooking us up with a washer, dryer and AC. I'm beyond excited!
6. I want to be on Wipeout!
1. I am so frustrated with my body. I'm still sore and nausea has been horrible. I have spent all day vomiting. Crackers and Sprite are my big plans tonight.
2. I have been feeling baby move more frequently! I've felt it from the outside twice. DH has missed it so far, I can't wait for him to experience it.
3. We are hoping to close on our new house by the end of July! I'm already packing.
4. Picking out paint colors for the house is more stressful than I expected.
5. I already don't want to go back to work. It is a chaotic environment and I work 12 hour days. I'm ready for a career change.
6. I'm bummed we won't be able to go visit DH's family this summer. They have been coming to us but it's not the same. We always have such a great time out there.
7. I can't wait to buy new furniture!
8. I'm currently 2 lbs less than my pre-pregnancy weight. It freaks DH out but baby is healthy and measuring 5 days ahead at our last u/s so I'm not concerned.
9. I am obsessed with cooking competition shows lately. I've always liked them but I can't get enough right now.
10. My MIL bought me a body pillow and I don't know how I slept without it before. It rocks.
