Is anyone watching Oprah?

Susanne Sommers takes over 40 nutritional supplements per day, puts on estrogen and progesterone cream and even puts some sort of estrogen cream in her va-hoo-ha.

I think she looks absolutely fabulous for being 62, but do you think this is over the top?

To each their own, but I just can't imagine waking up and worrying about doing all that stuff every day.?

?

Re: Is anyone watching Oprah?

  • I dvr it everday, so I haven't seen todays episode.  I think she maybe does this because she believes it helped her beat cancer.   I can't imagine doing all that.  If she's doing it to look better, then I think its over the top.  If she does it for health reasons and its working for her, than its ok.
  • I missed the first part so I don't know why exactly she does it, but I've just never head of anything like it. ?Interesting.

  • I would love to have the money and time to have some sort of crazy intense anti-again regimen. However since I don't have an over abundance of either I've decided to do what I can as preventitive maintenence and grow old gracefully. Its gonna friggen happen anyway.

  • Those creams could be doing jack too, but she wouldn't notice the difference. My mom is almost 64 and looks pretty awesome (IMO) w/o any of that stuff. It's all about if you want to let yourself go or not.

    My mom. She's a cougar.

  • It is a mix of herbal cancer treatment and anti-aging.  She practices bioidentical hormone replacement,  but the estrogen use can promote cancer growth.  So in a way her want to be young puts her at greater risk to have the cancer return,  making her need that many more pills to keep things on keel.
  • Eva, LOL! I agree - my mom is 61 and doesn't look a day over 45. If I have any of her genes, I will be a happy woman.
  • I know erin! I crossing my fingers I got some of her genes in that dept.
  • One of the blessings of oily skin.  My mother always gets called the 'new' wife since she looks so much younger than my father.  They are only five years apart,  but at social functions people ask if she has any children of her own (because they don't think she is old enough to be my brother & I's mother and assume she's our step-mother)
