Anniversary gifts?

Any suggestions on what to get DH?  I want it to be special, but not terrible expensive.  Thanks :)

Re: Anniversary gifts?

  • I'm stumped too! I was going to do a boudior photoshoot but I'm realizing that is way to expensive and I can't get anyone to do this with me.

  • The first anniversary is paper right? hmm time to get creative. I like the boudoir pics idea but i might be too insecure! i cant believe its like in 6 weeks!
  • Since we're going to New Orleans, our gift is the plane tickets. I'd like to get the honeymoon album I created ordered...or either finish our wedding album. If you do a digital scrapbook type thing that runs about $30...and it counts as paper. :) I think Shutterfly or Snapfish has a year in review type book that you can create to remind you of your first year as a married couple. They're easy to do and you can include text to talk about what kinds of things you did and the things you learned about being married. Hope this helps!

  • DH and I generally spend our free $$ on vacations.  There must be some romantic getaway in Alabama you can steal away to for at least a weekend.  We always look for hotels with fireplaces, jacuzzis, refrigerator and a great view or at least with a peaceful park or beach or mountain nearby.  These little vacations can be thrifty if you use Hotels.com to find a good last-minute deal ($200.00) and bring your own food.  We usually bring bread, wine, cheese, salad and fruit.

On the boudoir photos, it is relatively simple to take them yourself.  You could even get some expensive lingere (leave the tags on) and return it when you're done.  Also, use a digital camera on a tripod to get interesting angles.  Then download good (Free) software to "airbrush" yourself, I used Paint.net.  I gave DH a book with 20 photos for a wedding gift.

  • We are going back to the place we got married for the day and then staying overnight at our wedding night hotel. That will probably be our "gifts" to each other.

Maybe I'll write him a letter as well since this year is the paper anniversary.
