Centerpiece help

A friend of mine is getting"remarried". Not a second marriage, but having a full reception with renewal of vows next year. Her and her Dh had a tiny ceremony last year and want a big shindig next year when he gets home from Iraq. Anyway, she is looking for the glass vases in this link---the first one that look like giant champagne glasses. She sad he saw them for $40 or so at Flower and Craft but doesn't want to pay that much and doesn't whole wholesale and have to buy a bunch right now without creating a mock up of her design. Online wanted a fortune for shipping. Any idea where she get find them cheaper or who might be selling them used or as extra form their event. I'm also posting on the Knot, too.

This was her post to me:

"I need your help!!!!! I am looking for vases for our centerpeices I found the ones I want at craft and flower warehouse but its 40 dollars I wanna try to find one anywhere from 10-20 25ish dollars. I want something sorta like this picture http://www.wedding-flowers-guide.com/wedding-centerpieces.html"

 TIA

Re: Centerpiece help

  • Tell her to try Walmart.  When I got married I got all my vases at there.  I found one I loved and asked them to special order me 25 and they came in cases so they were easily transferrable.  I think I only paid $2.94 a piece or something like that, and if she is lucky she may find them on sale.   She may be able to try even a florist and see if they have some they can special order for her and get them at their price.

  • I think Walmart has the small version of the ones posted, but the ones she is looking for are really tall. I'd say they are probably1-2 feet tall. But the florist might be an idea.

  • I would try Michael's.  I know they have tons of different shapes and I think they are in the budget you mentoned...especially if you get one of those coupons that are always in the Sunday paper.  Joann's might even be a place to check or AC Moore.
  • I got something similar at Michaels or AC Moore for my wedding.  I forget which one I was at now, but I think they both had them in the floral section.  They weren't exactly the same. The ones I got were shaped a bit differently. More like a giant wine glass.  They were around $15 a piece regular price and both stores always have 40% off coupons.
