Just wanted to reach out and say I understand your position...sort of.  DH is in the military and deploys for those 6 week intervals too.  His next deployment will be the end of the summer and our son is due in June...

I have been alone before, but worry too about being alone with just a baby and worry about DH missing so much, but we do what we have to right?  just wanted to let you know we can talk since I sort of know how you feel.

Re: **mobun7**

  • Aww, you are such a sweetheart. ?Thank you for thinking of me!

What branch is your husband in? Mine is in the Air Force.

Jake left back in October for 2 weeks, when Julian was 3 months old and he felt like the baby was a totally different person. ?Then he left again for two weeks in January...it's nonstop over here. ?But, like I said, this will be the longest he'll be away from us. ?I'll be sure to take tons of videos and pics, (not like i don't already!).

Oh, and I think I told you this before, but your boxer rocks! ?We LOVE our Murphy to death!!?

  • DH is ANG, so he does deploy differntly than all the other branches.  Things have slowed down recently which is nice.  We usually have a 4-8 week deployment a year--a nice change from when we first met (30 days home, 60+ away, 30 days home 60+ away...you get the idea).

It's that lack of communication that is the killer.  I can deal with all the lonely nights, taking out the trash and the other "man chores" and I can even handle not hearing his voice...having the internet communication helps.  but when they can't is when it really sucks!

Once we are onthe board at the same time I would love to give you my email address...with all the trolls and drama I just don't want to yet.

Don't boxers rule??  Hanlon is snoring away next to me--pushing me off the chair (wouldn't want to disturb her).  I can't wait to see how she reacts to the new baby.  I am sure she will forget all about us and be the big sister protector! :)

  • Ahhhh, it is so nice to talk to someone that knows exactly what it's like to be a military wife!!

Yes, we can defintely exchange email addresses when things calm down. :)

We will never get another breed of dog! ?Murphy is 50 pounds of pure cuddle! He really thinks he's a lap dog! ?She will be AMAZING with your new babe. ?We weren't concerned in the least bit, about how Murphy would act towards Julian. ? They both admire one another and it's so great to see Julian laughing at the dog. ?They are going to be the best of friends when Julian is old enough to run around after him.?
