Re: virtua vs cooper
Hey Veg! I am not far from you at all so let me know if you need anything!?
I delivered at Virtua and it was great. Now Cooper is a great hospital BUT its in Camden.....where it is isn't THAT bad of an area, but its still Camden. Its an intimidatingly large hospital as well. I always get lost......I almost delivered at Capitol Health but changed b/c it was Trenton and I didn't want DH/visitors traveling back and forth into Trenton.?
?Either way you are in good places. I would want to be in Cooper if there was something really wrong with me. But I was very happy with Virtua Mt. Holly...very good "service", good food, internet access. And I like the practice I am with. I loved most of the staff at Virtua and felt like I was in a hotel.....LOL. You'll get that after you deliver.?
hey kelly!
i live right near virtua in voorhees..its down the street from me. when we went to cooper today, i hated it... i know cooper is great if something is wrong...but as far as i know nothing is. i dont know where to start to go about changing doctors at this point.
anyone have OBGYN recs in marlton/voorhees area that deliver at virtua?
i go to phoenixobgyn in moorestown- but i know they have several locations
Okay, I also use Phoenix....you should call them. They would definitely take you in the middle of PG (I came to them at 20 weeks). Its definitely worth a call to them.

My deciding factors in choosing Virtua:
Stellar NICU @ Voorhees
Not a university hospital, although I agreed to a student nurse attending for my 1st postpartum AM care... not the best decision I made, but I was in a happy, generous, 'new mommy' state of mind.
Not in Camden.
mobun7 delivered at Cooper...you can page her if you have specific questions too ( she's a very good IRL friend of mine)
I delivered at Cooper and it was great! I don't know much about Virtua, but have only heard good things. Cooper had all private rooms, its own food service (seperate from the rest of the hospital and overall pretty good) and I love my Dr. so it was a no brainer for me. They also have a new parking garage right next to the L&D building so it was really easy to get in and out. It was my first baby and I didn't want to be alone, so my husband stayed on a cot with me the entire time. The room used to be for two, so it was huge! It was also very clean and the nurses were great!
Overall, I don't think you can fo wrong either way. I was nervous about being at Cooper, especially since I live literally right down the street from Kennedy Wash. Twp., but it worked out great!
HTH.
