VENT: This sucks!

All of a sudden, the past few days my feet have been so swollen. None of my shoes fit me anymore. As a teacher, I am on my feet all day and I can already tell today is going to be agony. Last night I was in so much pain from the one pair of shoes I thought would get me through the day.

Now I have to go out and spend money I don't have on shoes I don't want! Super Angry

Thanks for listening. Vent over.

Re: VENT: This sucks!

  • poopy that really sucks..sorry to hear that!!
  • I'm sorry! Foot pain really sucks! I injured my back a couple of years ago, and because of my limp, my feet were starting to hurt constantly- I had to get some good orthotics to make my life bearable- the money sucks but it will be sooooo worth it!
Don't worry about tomorrow. After all, today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. Take each day as it comes...one at a time. Midnight Baking Adventures Blog
  • I agree, that sucks!

  • Bogus! May I suggest payless. I got some flats to hold me over during pg and they worked great. Although I was not on my feet all day.
  • DSW always has really good shoes for decent prices.  I think there is a store in Redland and a store in Ontario.  You should check them out.  Hope your feet get better.
  • My feet had been swelling to recently. I think the warm weather coupled with being on your feet really contributes to it. Because the day my feet were swelling was a day that I was running (more like waddling) around campus all day long. It has subsided for me since then, but I am not on my feet all day long, it is only on days where I am.

I understand not wanting to spend money. I just spent some money on a snoogle and maternity support belt, I hope they are worth the money and help with my back pains. My back has been killing me.

  • Thank you for the suggestions. I think I will go to payless after work today.
  • I'm sorry!  My feet have not started swelling my hands have though....I was able to squeeze on my engagement ring.  My wedding band has gotten so tight it freaks me out to even attempt putting it on.
  • Shert - the body pillpw was pretty much the best money spent during my pregnancy.

Darby - I'm sorry your feet are swelling, mine did too. I expect them to be worse this time around, since I will be in my third tri during the very hot months this summer.

  • Irma - I bought some Merrill mary janes when I was on the road at 6-ish mos pregnant. ?They are the most comfortable shoes EVER and I still wear them just about every day two years later. ?Totally worth the $$ (I think they were $70). ?Bought them at Dillards in Montana (yes, Montana) - but I am sure you could get them at Zappos.
