XP: T&P for my nephew, please

He's having brain surgery on Friday.  His parents created a webpage that will update his status.  Here is his story from the webpage:

"My name is Jackson. I will soon be 3 years old. I have two amazing brothers of whom I consider my best friends. Jason is 7 and Joseph is 4 months old. I was born with Down Syndrome and Neurofibromatosis. Shortly after birth I was diagnosed with a PDA in which my doctors were able to successfully close. I have been hospitalized many times with pneumonia, yet I refuse to let that stop me. When I was a year old, I had an esophageal scope which led to the diagnosis of Laryngomalacia. Then when I was 20 months old I had two strokes within hours of each other since then I have been diagnosed with thee Antiphosphilipid and Anticardiolipin syndromes as well as Epilepsy and Moyamoya. I will be undergoing brain surgery on the 6th of February. My family and I hope that you will say an extra prayer for me and stop back to follow my progress. Mommy and Daddy will be updating my journal daily."

Re: XP: T&P for my nephew, please

  • Oh my goodness... your relatives sound like they're dealing with a lot, and your poor nephew. :(  Thoughts & prayers are going their way, and please keep us posted on how he's doing.
  • Poor little guy!  It always breaks my heart to hear about kids with health issues.  My thoughts will be with him and his family.
  • I will definitely pray for him!!! Keep us updated.

I had a student that had a stroke when he was born and it caused epilepsy. He had brain surgery to remove the part of his brain that caused the siezures (he was having anywhere between 5-35 a school day) and he came through it well and hasn't had a siezure since and it's been a year and a half! I'm not sure if your nephew is having the same kind of surgery but I wanted to post this for encouragement because I know we hadn't heard of much when he went for his surgery.
