First handdrawn Disney movie in 5 years....

is coming out this Christmas! I forgot that I had heard about it, but was reminded today when I saw something about it on facebook. It's called The Princess and the Frog, and it's set in New Orleans during the 20s. It's also featuring the first black heroine/princess, which is pretty cool (and about time!). I think I saw apicture before but didn't know the details. Anyway, it sounds cute.

I find that exciting. Pixar is great, I looooved Wall E, but there's something special about the hand drawn ones.?

  • Oooh, I've been looking forward to this for awhile now!  I recently bought the remastered DVD of Sleeping Beauty - love, love, love it!  You're right, there's just something special about those movies.
  • I don't have ANY of the classics on DVD. Isn't that bad??

My parents have some of mine from the days of VHS and giant plastic cases....but DVD ?versions need to be bought before we have kids, for sure! Working with a Disney obssessed kid has reminded me that I miss those movies!

I didn't know they had a club, but wish I did before b/c last year I bought The Sword in the Stone, Robin Hood (the one where he's a fox), Sleeping Beauty, Mickey's Holiday Classics, and another I can't recall, all on DVD.

  • I love Disney classics!  I'm patiently waiting for them to bring Fantasia out of the Disney vault so I can purchase it.

I didn't realize that either and will keep it in mind for later!
