fertility friend

I know little to nothing about FF and related things. I am not TTC yet, but wanted to familiarize myself with things. I had the trial FF account.

Is it worth paying for when the time comes? Is the free account good enough? Is there some other site I should check out?

A friend is TTC and I started telling her the bits and pieces of info I picked up here... but it got me thinking.

Re: fertility friend

  • Use the free FF as long as it lasts, it is good  What I did was I bought TCOYF (taking charge of your fertility) and that came with software and that is what I use.  I would highly recommend TCOYF, it has tons of information to get ya started.
  • FF was really interesting and easy to understand.  I got pregnant my first month temping, so I didn't use it beyond the free trial.  From what I understand though, the paid version just gives you more to obsess about.

  • 6ft I have heard good things about that book. I didn't know it came with software.

Sophie Good for you! I wasted my free trial, just because I wanted to see what it was and I'm not even TTC. Oops.

  • Don't worry about "wasting" it.  Good luck had more to do with my BFP than temping. Smile  The temping is more to make sure you ovulating and to try and predict the best days to have sex the following cycle.

  • Alicia, I have been reading "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" to try educate myself about my body and possibly use it as a form of BC (not the only form, just as a backup since i am a paranoid person).  It is really interesting and I definitely recommend it (just dont read it before bed...I had the weirdest dreams when I did that haha).

  • Your FF free membership is good forever...not sure if you know that..you don't need the vip membership...i have been charting for 2 yrs in Jan and i bought the vip for 3 months in the very begining thats when i realized it was a waste of money...i also highly recommend TCOYF...it is a GREAT book

Oh and if you use it long enough it will give you free VIP for a month or so randomly

  • krista, you and your "TCOYF related" dreams crack me up!
  • I also just used the free version. I didn't really temp though - I'm not disciplined enough. I just used digital OPK's.
  • I don't use FF nor have I read that book.  I did have a vision when I went to bed a few weeks ago that I was carrying my baby in one of those baby carrier car seat things and tripped on the sidewalk and dropped my baby.  I used that as an omen that I am not fit to be a mother. Good luck and don't have any baby dropping visions.
  • I'm not sure if I'll really chart. I just liked the information. I have a love for learning, how cliche. Wink
