Update on life

My husband decided to give up his business at the end of January and has started a new job- still painting cars, but for a bigger business wit more regular hours and regular paychecks. I feel such a huge weight of stress off, and he already looks five years younger I swear. Up until the end of last month he was still working 18 hour days.  Having him home by 6 pm is like a dream!

I'm halfway through my program now and looking forward to figuring out what happens after this for our family!  It's going really well, but it's exhausting. In August, I'll finally be done with my qualifications to get a job I'll be happy with for a long time.

Just wanted to share with you ladies! I'm just really excited to have mor eof the family life we've really wanted. I miss chatting here more often. Maybe by the end of summer I'll be around more!

Re: Update on life

  • that is wonderful news!  There is nothing worth more than family time!  Good luck as you are finishing up your program
  • I'm sorry things didn't work out for your husband's business, but I give him credit for know when enough was enough.  My DH was self employed for a few years and he gave it up shortly after we got married. It was not an easy decision for him to make, but in the end he was glad that he did.  It was such a relief for both of us when he got a job with a regular paycheck and didn't feel like he had to work 24 hours a day to earn it.  I'm glad things seem to be working out well for you guys too :)

  • I'm glad to hear that you are doing well and getting more time together.  Congratulations on being half way through your program!  I'm so happy for you for being able to follow your dream.

Good luck in the next few months, I hope things continue to improve!

  • Hi Kelly!  I'm so happy to hear that things are getting better for you and your family.  I'm sorry your DH's business did not work out but sounds like he has something better now.  Good luck in the next couple months.  Thanks for the update.
  • That is great news! I am so happy things are going well!

  • Kelly its great to see an update from you!  I'm sorry about your DH's business but in today's economy I think it's especially harder on the small business owner.  Yay for having him home though.  My DH just switched jobs and is home earlier too so I understand the feeling!  Sounds like things are really going well, albeit hectic but hopefully we'll hear more from you soon!
  • It's great to hear from you Kelly, and it sounds like things are going really well for your family.  I commend your husband for doing what he had to do for himself and his family, I'm sure the decision was not easy.  And congrats to you for being almost done with your program.  It sounds like a lot of work but I know it'll be worth it for you when it's all over.  I'm very happy for you and hope to see you around here more.  Take care!
  • That is great news and I am glad you the husband home more. I am sure it was stressful with him working so much.
