So today ended up being a crappy day when it shouldnt be. DH and I took Miles for a walk at the park. Everytime DH walks him, he is controlling. He doesnt want Miles to pull him, so he yanks him back really hard. It is very embarassing and I dont like it. It makes me feel bad for Miles. He looks like he is abusing the dog. It ends up making us fight every time. Now he wont talk to me. He really has no idea how to train Miles, he is more trying to control him. I tried telling him in a nice way, but he just got even more mad. Not really sure how to correct or make this situation better, so in the future we can go for walks together
Re: Miles
Have you tried using a harness for Miles? I used that with our lab when she was a puppy and that really helped. Or maybe getting a trainer to help with walking. The money spent will be so worth it in the end!
We now use a choke/slip collar for our lab. I know people are a little iffy with that, but when used correctly, has been a life-saver! Especially for Toby who knows how to slip out of every collar & harness! She is a Houdini!

martingale training collar are wonderful for training to walk too. Similar to a choke/pinch collar, but much easier to use, and you won't have to worry about using it incorrectly.
