Dear Community,

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.

Thank you.

Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.

FB question

Is there a way to be friends with someone and not see every update they post? This applies specifically to FB friends I have not seen for years and haven't spoken to other than on FB.  I really don't want to know every time a girl I was friendly with in HS comes or goes to work.

It makes me think, do my FB friends that I haven't seen IRL for years want to know the random things I put as updates?  Perhaps I am thinking about this way too much on such a beautiful day.

Re: FB question

  • Yes you can . . if you hover over their update on the home page you can select "Less about so and so".   Hope that helps!
  • In addition to Jen's suggestion, you can also click the link at the bottom of your newsfeed that says "options about newsfeed". That takes you to a page where you can type in names of friends you want to see more posts from and friends you want to see less posts from.

And I'm with you on the whole FB thing. Sometimes I think...If I don't care what they are doing, why do I even have them as my friend? I'm trying to do a clean out and only keep the friends...who are really my friends!

  • Thanks!!  I didn't want to un-friend, just less details!
