I hurt my hips on Sunday while I was goofing around doing an exercise tape and now I'm in pain. I had a slight limp yesterday but today it's a full blown limp. And it's not like a normal hip hurting spot it's in the front so I can't strethch it. Anything involving picking up my legs hurts i.e. walking, stairs, crossing my legs. I just ran an errand and had to carry something heavy, I felt like I was going to pass out from pain. It was exhausting. That made me want to just sit and rest, good idea, right? wrong! The longer I sit the more painfull it is when I start to walk again:(
Re: I need some sympathy
Sounds like a pretty intense workout video! Is it pain or soreness?
If it's soreness you should get a foam roller (they sell them at target/d!cks/etc) and slowly start rolling your hips/butt/quads. If it's pain, it sounds like you might have a tear or something in the muscle. I would take some advil or something. Don't stretch! It might help if you lie on your back with your palms up at your sides and put your legs up on something so that they're at a 90 degree angle. It'll help relieve some of the tightness. You can also try alternating one leg up on the couch/bed one at a time.
I hope you feel better soon! Icing in 20 minute intervals might also help.
I only know all of this because 1) my H likes to kick my butt at the gym and I'm often in your situation and 2) my H has had more than a handful of sports injuries.
I just found this website: http://sportsmedicine.about.com/cs/rehab/a/heatorcold.htm
I guess what you use it depends on how you interpret your injury.
I think we'll know who you are tonight! You'll be the one hobbling around spilling her beer all over the place ;-)
