MIL drama!!!
I leave for Ireland on Saturday and everyone knows that. The H's birthday was in the begining of November. I had his whole family over and I decorated and made a yummy cake and we all gave him presents.
So MIL calls him up and says that she never got to celebrate his birthday and the family wants to take him out to dinner on Sunday. WE DID CELEBRATE. I MADE A GD F'ING CAKE WITH THREE FILLING CHOICES FROM SCRATCH. REMEMBER THE HOUSE YOU WENT TO WITH BALLONS AND A CAKE! YEAH THAT WAS OURS. YOU EVEN SANG.

I think he is just immune to noticing the crazy.
Sounds like your MIL is habving problems letting DH go and realizing that he's growing up.
The timing is really strange - it would be one thing if she wanted to take you all out to dinner as another, intimate gesture, but the fact that it's 3 months later sounds spiteful.
