Valentines Survey

This board is really slow!  We need a good survey!

1.  Are you doing anything this year for Valentines Day?

2.  Do you typically celebrate V-day?

3.  What is the most romantic thing anyone has done for you on or around V-day?

Re: Valentines Survey

  • 1.  Are you doing anything this year for Valentines Day?  Probably not since it is on a Saturday and we have a little one now.

    2.  Do you typically celebrate V-day?  Not really.  Last year we went to a concert on V-day (Keith Urban/Carrie Underwood).

    3.  What is the most romantic thing anyone has done for you on or around V-day?  So, I didn't date or marry any romantic guys.  Getting flowers was probably the most romantic thing.

  • 1. I don't know, but I have a feeling DH is going to try to surprise me with dinner somewhere.  He already opened his Uggs, which were my V-day gift to him.

    2. Ironically, no.  But we always do cards for each other.  This year it just turned out to be a coincidence that the Uggs came a week before V-day.

    3. Waaaaay back when, DH (then BF) hid tickets to a show I wanted to see in a word search he made.  As in he used cardstock, scissors, paper, glue, etc.  Then I had to put the words in the word search together to figure out where the tickets were.  They were in my hands the whole time, but it took me a while to do the puzzle and figure out the clues.

  • 1. We are actually going to a Victorian Valentine's Dinner at the Landis Valley Museum.

    2. Yes

    3. My husband (fiance at the time) sent me three dozen roses to work. It was very, very heavy, but I was the center of attention for a while. I loved it.  He's not allowed to spend that much on flowers anymore though. LOL!

  • 1.  Are you doing anything this year for Valentines Day?  Probably not. I have mystery shops to do and DH said he would tag along with me, so we'll spend the day together, but it's got nothing to do with Valentine's day.  I might try to talk him into going out to dinner, but mostly just because I've been jonsing for Indian food and it seems like a good excuse to splurge.

    2.  Do you typically celebrate V-day? Not really.  DH has given me gifts on two of the five V-day's we've been together but both times I wished he would have just saved his money :)  I don't think he'll get me anything this year.

    3.  What is the most romantic thing anyone has done for you on or around V-day?  We're not romantic people. DH sent me flowers at work last year. It was a nice gesture, so I didn't have the heart to tell him that I thought it was a waste of money.

  • We have reservations at very quaint, cute restaurant.  My parents are coming down to watch Sophia and we may take advantage of that and go to the movies to see Coraline after dinner.

We have been celebrating V-day at this particular restaurant for 3 years now.

Hmmm, I really can't remember the most romantic thing on V-day.....I surprised DH with a nice dinner and hotel room several years ago...lol

  • 1.  Are you doing anything this year for Valentines Day?  DH just said to me this morning that he wanted something for Valentine's Day and it's the same thing that I want.  By this he meant, we should get cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory and spend some time together.

    2.  Do you typically celebrate V-day?  Not a ton of celebration, just a little something usually.

    3.  What is the most romantic thing anyone has done for you on or around V-day?  DH has some done very romantic things in the past.  I can't think of something specific to Valentine's Day too much, except he would always come visit me them and bring me a balloon, which I love.

    2. yes, in a sort-of, let's do something we don't normally do way.

    3. hmmm... i think i was surprised one year with john mayer tickets. i totally thought he was lying too, i thought he made up some fake ticekts or something until i read them.

  • 1.  Are you doing anything this year for Valentines Day?  not that I know of, unless DH has a surprise planned- since he asked me if I had any plans for V-day 2 weeks ago :)

    2.  Do you typically celebrate V-day?  yes

    3.  What is the most romantic thing anyone has done for you on or around V-day?  Two years ago, DH proposed!!  Well not exactly as he had planned because of the terrible ice storm we had in 2007, we celebrated V-day and he proposed on the 16th instead!  And then spent the weekend at a bed and breakfast and went to the Log Cabin restaurant -which is now out of business :(

  • 1. Are you doing anything this year for Valentines Day?

Dh made reservations at a local restaurant we wanted to try

    2. Do you typically celebrate V-day?

sort of..usually go out to dinner. Although it hasn't always been on THE day because of our schedules.

    3. What is the most romantic thing anyone has done for you on or around V-day?

The first year dh and I were dating, he took his entire tax return and planned a whole long weekend for us. Various hotels with flower/chocolate packages....room with a full size jacuzzi....dinners..Longwood Gardens... yeah, never had one like that since.

  • 1.  Are you doing anything this year for Valentines Day?

We are getting take our sushi and having a picnic in our living room

    2.  Do you typically celebrate V-day?

Sort of, we don't usually make a big deal of it with gifts but we will usually go to dinner.

    3.  What is the most romantic thing anyone has done for you on or around V-day?

It wasn't exactly on the day but I still count it. On V-day we had reservations at the restaurant where we had our first date but it ended up snowing so badly we decided not to go. Later that week when I got home from work DH said we were going to dinner, he had called the restaurant and arranged to have us seated in the booth we had on our first date. The place has since closed, that is why I just wanted takeout sushi this year.

  • 1.  Are you doing anything this year for Valentines Day? yup! We are going to The Melting Pot! :) We are going out for breakfast too! and we are exchanging presents

    2.  Do you typically celebrate V-day? not usually very big, but this year we are going all out for some reason

    3.  What is the most romantic thing anyone has done for you on or around V-day? we haven't done anything majorly romantic until this year... usually just exchange a small present

  • 1.  yep - a friend invited DH and i over to watch movies and do drinks/dessert with her, her hubby (who is my coworker), and another couple (the husband of that couple is my coworker as well... we're all close and hang out a lot).

    2.  no, DH and i never celebrate v-day.

    3.  the most romantic thing was this year - DH got me a gift certificate to the Spa at Hotel Hershey so that I can get a massage and relax for a few hours.  i started crying like a baby because he is so thoughtful and knew i needed it.  first time in 5 years we've ever "done" valentine's day!

  • 1.  Are you doing anything this year for Valentines Day? Unfortunately no.  We were supposed to go away with DH's family for a trip but his grandmother passed away.  So we will be spending it with his family though a different setting.

    2.  Do you typically celebrate V-day? Usually we do dinner and small presents.

    3.  What is the most romantic thing anyone has done for you on or around V-day? DH proposed to me on VDay.  He always says it is "commericial holiday"  so we were staying in and making dinner.  He did that as well as proposed!!!  So it was the best one so far.

  • 1.? Are you doing anything this year for Valentines Day?Just dinner reservations at a small, cozy looking restaurant in our little historic town : ) I'm excited because it is out of the craziness of the mainstream restaurants. We'll probably just spend the day together and then watch a movie at home afterwards.?
2.? Do you typically celebrate V-day??Just usually dinner, cards.?
3.? What is the most romantic thing anyone has done for you on or around V-day??DH also proposed to me on Valentine's Day in 2004, so this makes it 5 years. It was definitely not how he originally planned it. I guess the original plan was to propose in May in the Hershey Gardens, but supposively he couldn't wait any longer : ) He made me a huge gourmet dinner with roses everywhere : ) ?Even given the fact that we got engaged on VDay we don't feel like it is a huge holiday, just our own special one!
