Just got a call from my doctor

Apparently my glucose test results from Monday are high and they have to run more tests to see if I have gestational diabetes.

I guess this is my wake up call because I haven't taken care of myself as well as I should. Plus, diabetes runs in my family (dad & grandma have it).

Re: Just got a call from my doctor

  • Oh no!  I haven't gotten my results  yet.  Does that mean you have to take the 3 hour test?

  • Yes, the dreaded 3 hour test. I hated being there for 1 hour, now I gotta go back! Angry
  • I hope the next test shows you in the clear.
  • UGH!!! I guess you had better get a book or something!

    BLEH!!

I can't wait for mine!!!! ::insert sarcasm here::

  • I'm sorry!  What a bummer!

I was a Type 2 diabetic before getting pg so I didn't have to take the test...From what I hear, I'm kinda glad.

  • When I had to wait there for the one hour, I pre-registered for labor and delivery. Sorry you have to take the 3 hour. I hope you don't have it.
  • Ugh I am sorry! I hope you don't have it! I skipped the one hour and went straight into the 3 hour last time because I naturally spill so much sugar in my urine.
  • Ugh that stinks! I had to do the 1 hour twice because the first time was apparently too early, silly nurse. Good luck with the next one!
  • Hope everything will be ok.
  • Thanks, everyone. I really hope the next tests are normal, but I know I HAVE to cut down on sweets and exercise more.

Anyone willing to be my arse kicker when I make excuses not to exercise? DH is tired of fruitlessly nagging me, so he's stopped.

Also, anyone know off-hand if our beloved Quest Diagnostics will be open Monday?  I'm hoping so because I cannot take time off from work for this.

    TIA

  • oh man the 3hr test sucks!! I hope you get good results
  • That sucks. I don't know anything about either of the tests, but doesn't sound like fun. I hope it shows everything is ok.
  • Good luck on the 3 hour test!

Well, it's not fun, but it could be worse. They draw blood, then I have to drink some orange-flavored drink, sit around in their waiting room for 3 hours, and then have my blood drawn again. Crying

    No

  • that sucks!  I had to take the 3 hour test both pregnancies....I passed the 2nd time around.

Crossing my fingers that you don't have GD!

  • Oh I am so sorry to hear that. I hope the next test comes out negative for GD for you! Keeping you in my prayers!
