How's everyone doing?
I started week 5 of couch 2 5k today, slightly ahead of schedule. I finished 4 yesterday and woke up early this morning and decided to just go and try it. It wasn't too horrible, though I'm thinking I'll do each of the W5 workouts twice. I can't believe how fast it's going...have those of you doing it given any thought to what you'll do next? I may need to find a 5k to 10k training thing or something, as I'm finding this whole regime really fun. It's nice not to feel like exercising is a chore, but rather working towards a goal.
Food-wise, I've just been focusing on portion control. I have a rather heavy eating and drinking filled weekend coming up, so hopefully I can get some workouts in and not go too crazy.
Hope everyone else is doing good!
Re: (#) Thursday check in
Way to finish week four! I did W5D2 twice, I believe, and I wouldn't feel too bad about repeating.
I did W5D3 last night and am either starting W6D1 tonight or going to my strength training class, haven't decided. Am soooo tired and cranky and would rather skip it but I know I'll feel better if I do something active.
I foolishly agreed to run a 1/2 marathon this fall, so after C25K I'll try to find a training program for that -- not sure what I'll do as I haven't looked into it yet. I really like having a running challenge, as well, rather than just a vague desire to work out.
I'm doing pretty well! I'll finish week 3 tomorrow or Saturday, and I've been doing Yogalates, which I absolutely LOVE, on my off days. I'm also loving C25k, and am 5 entertaining the idea of doing a half marathon in the fall. We'll see. I'm going to make it to the 5k and then decide. I've not stuck with a running program this long since I was in high school (3 weeks, such an accomplishment, right?) so I'm really proud of myself!
My eating has been pretty good. Our Valentine's Day tradition is pizza and beer, so I'll cheat for that, and then next week we're going to Vegas, and again, there will be some cheating for sure. But! I plan to visit the gym and do week 4 while I'm there.
I haven't seen much progress on the scale (3 pounds total) but I was changing at the gym today and I looked in the full length mirror (don't have one at home!) and I do feel like I'm slimmer in general, so that's good.
Sometime in mid-October, Nike sponsors an annual women's half-marathon (and marathon) in SF. Is that the one you are thinking of?
That's been in the back of my mind. The idea of a half-marathon scares me to death, and I'd have to see how I'm feeling once I get to 5k, but I haven't totally ruled it out. And if I had a buddy doing it...! Plus, last year, they gave all the participants sterling silver Tiffany necklaces!
Yes! That's it. AJ (from the DC Board who lives in LA now) is doing the full marathon and she's the one who suggested it! I do love me some Tiffany, too!
Let's definitely chat about it once we both make it to 5k!
