Fraud on my Credit Card

BoA called me tonight and notified me about some "questionable" activity.  Sure enough I did not make charges to napster or a convenience store in another state (I think Michigan).  I'm so upset, it's the icing on the sh!t cake this week has been.  Between fighting with my past employer for my W2's, DH being away, work sucking in general and now this I may just cry.

Re: Fraud on my Credit Card

  • Are you sure you didn't go to Michigan this Monday??

Sorry you are having a craptacular week!  It will all be okay...hang in there and just think tomorrow is Friday! I've had my checking account wiped out more times than I care to remember and it always works out!!  Crappy thieves seem to really love convenience store shopping for some reason.  My account was wiped out in a matter of 15 minutes at wawa's in Philly....wtf??  Must have gotten alot of gas, eggs, bread and milk?

  • oh no!!!  Well, thank goodness BoA called you!  I am really sorry that you have to deal with all that.  Hopefully, it will get resolved quickly..
  • This happened to me two years ago with my Chase card but it was someone local in Blackwood and she was purchasing lunch for everyone at Ott's on the Green and buying lots of stuff at Rite Aid....the froze the card b/c the address on the card didn't match mine.     They took care of it all but I still have no clue HOW someone got my information to apply for a credit card and I had to put a fraud alert on my credit report which was reassuring but a pain the butt b/c everytime I had to apply for something they had to call a 1800 # and verifty it was me by asking about 10 questions....but I felt better knowing it was being watched
  • Oh no that sucks!!  I hope BoA can get it all straightened out quickly for you.  My mom's account was compromised right before Christmas and someone spent a few hundred bucks on Overstock.  She had all of her money back within a few days.

And I hope next week gets better for you!!

  • I'm so sorry!  That really stinks, but at least because it happens more often now they can fix it quickly.
  • That stinks! But that's good they caught it. Last year, someone was using my AMEX in some night clubs in Malaysia or something. They must have got my number somehow (b/c I had the card). Or it was some kind of counterfeit card that happened to be my number. Crazy.
  • That happened to me on Christmas Eve! I was really worried and upset, but BoA cancelled that card, sent me a new one, and it's been no problem ever since. It'll be fine... these banks have a great system!
  • Oh man this week has not been good for you.  Be thankful BoA caught it.  I think this happens so often now they are really good about fixing it quickly.
