Lawyers - Quick question!
DH and I need a certified copy of our birth certificates & marriage license. I know that we cannot go to a regular notary and get a copy, but a coworker of mine said that lawyers could do it - Is this true? Neither one of us was born in CA and we got married out of state so the county clerk will not make a certified copy for us either....seems weird that they won't but lawyers can (why I don't believe her!). We are kinda at a loss of what to do! It will take us close to a month (and more $) to just request copies through the other states!?
Re: Lawyers - Quick question!
I have never obtained a birth cert or marriage license from an out of state agency for a client.
Usually there is a Clerk of Records that you have to send a form to requesting a certified copy of the document. You'll just need to contact the Clerk in the County where the record is located to request it after seeing what form they require. That form(s) probably need to be notarized too.
Eek - good luck!
Thats what I thought. Thanks!?
Looks like we will just have to pay the extra $ and wait it out.....dang it!?
