Tax refunds

Has anyone got theirs yet?

What are you doing with it, whether you've gotten it yet or not?

Just being nosy.

Re: Tax refunds

  • We just filed yesterday.

We're gunna pay our property taxes and pay off a 0% card that goes to 21.99% in April.  Then, if we ever get our state, that'll go towards a new fence.

    What are you gunna do?

  • We're getting a refund for CA but I don't count on seeing it anytime soon.  I'll probably use it to get a well-needed haircut.

    :-/

  • We have files but have not gotten it yet. We will use part of it to pay off one CC completly and pay down our car loans. After that probably just put it in savings.

  • Yes!

I'm pissed that we have a CA refund since they are delaying them.  Apparently there is a 45-day period after date of submission that CA has, and anything after that supposedly they owe you interest.  I'm so perplexed about the CA situation.  I'm going to change our withholdings so that we're slated to PAY CA next year.  It's BS that they owe me and I have to wait.  Bastards.

  • We will use our Fed refund to pay our state taxes.
  • It'll be going directly into the baby fund.
  • We haven't filed yet, but we usually get a refund so mentally I have paid off my car, saved some money, and planned a summer vacation. Big dreams lol
  • So far we've paid our car off, purchased plane tickets for a few trips, and paid off our CC debt.

As it turns out, we've been paying WAY TOO MUCH throughout the year. We were so worried about owing for the 6th year in a row but I think we got a little crazy when we had them take extra $$$ out of our paychecks.

  • We are getting a new laptop.  Our PC crashed and we don't feel like paying to fix it right now.  It will cost us less to get a laptop at this point... so thats what we're doing.  I'm also going to pay off a credit card and I think we'll put the rest in the bank.
  • No refund here, we will be sending them a check this yearCrying
  • We filed ours at the end of January, we just got the Fed tax refund yesterday. We are going to use it to pay our house's tax + debt.
  • I have too many plans for our refund. Last year we got back a bunch but we had bought a house in 07' so that explained the return. I am guessing if we get half of that back this year I can still get some things I've been wanting. In order of importance, we are getting a Cal King Bed (Our bed is hidiously small), new washer & dryer, ), Epoxy Garage flooring, and a Flat Screen for our bedroom.

We threw our refund last year in savings and it was no fun. I want to spend this year for sure.

  • We got quite a bit back this year from both the state and federal. I think it helped a lot that we bought a house last year.

We haven't received it yet, but we will use it to remodel the backyard, get a flat screen for the LR and possibly MBR. The rest will go into our savings and e-fund.

  • Our refund will be coming this week. We're either open IRAs or putting the money in CDs. The rates for CDs are really low right now, but at least the money won't be accessible.
