Northshore (Well, Covington) Nesties! I need your help!

I've been trying to find a garbage company who offers recycling and the only one I found is SDT.  However, the need 500 people to sign up in order for the service to start.  I live outside the city limits (I don't understand this at all) so CWS won't come to me.  My current trash collector is a mom and pop place and I'm not sure they even know what recycling is!

The bulk of our trash can be recycled.  It's mostly plastic bags, 2 liter bottles and milk jugs.  We're going through trash bags like water!   I moved here from a small town in Kentucky with a bunch a small minded billies and even they recycled!

I was told that we can have just recylcing service for $18 a month.  They pick up twice a month and give you the recycling bins.  For those of you who live in an area where recycling isn't offered, please go to this website and request it.  http://www.sdtwds.com/recycle/

I'll also take suggestions on places I can take my recylcing.  We don't get the paper and that's the only service I've seen (there's a bin in Rouse's and one by my work).

Louisiana is losing it's coastline and its a shame.  It's only a matter of time before the Northshore is the new coast.  Any small change can help and recycling is one of them.  Help me help the coast!

Re: Northshore (Well, Covington) Nesties! I need your help!

  • I offer no help, but my BIL proposed a plan to Jeff. Parish where it would be free to participants because the profit of the recycling would pay for itself and produce  a profit.   They didn't go for it, this was at least 10 years ago.

I'll page you in another post.

  • I'm not much help b/c CWS picks up ours, but there is place off Hwy 21 right before the corner of Boston that has a recycling sign. I've never been down there to see what they collect, but it's worth a shot! It's a hand-painted sign with red letters.
