Organist for wedding?

Does anyone remember who they used and how much they paid for their church organist? I've been looking around and I'm having trouble. My church charges $300 for the organist for the hour on top of the $600 for the church and I'm guessing I need a vocalist too

Wow, that's crazy. You don't necessarily need a vocalist, unless you want one. I don't know how much my church organist would have been because I ended up using a friend of a friend - her and her brother charged me $150. It was very cheap and I gave them more than that. And they were much better than an organist would have been. He brought his own small piano and she played the violin and sang.

You could probably get someone for cheaper than $300, or at least someone who does vocals, too. Check out craigslist - that's where I looked when I was getting prices.

We used the church's pianist. She charged $150. This included the ceremony as well as a rehearsal the day before the wedding.

we paid $250 the church that we were married at would only let you use their organist, they would not let an outside person play their organ.

I'm fairly certain that we paid $200 for the singer and $200 for the organist, that was in addition to the fee we paid to the church ($400?). I wish I could get paid $200 for an hour's worth of work!!!

We used the organist and vocalist the church offered. If we didnt we had to pay a fee for that as well. The organist was $150 and the vocalist was $145.
