Fast food - shrinking

I just got a meximelt.  It's so much smaller than usual.  I noticed this the other week with my tacos too.

Has anyone else picked up on this?

It's just like the Girl Scout Cookies - less in a box for the sam price!

Re: Fast food - shrinking

  • There are less Girl Scout Cookies in the boxes?!?!

Not that I drink a lot of Starbucks but I was there over the weekend and I swear their cups are smaller.

  • Haven't really noticed it at the places I eat.

I think smaller portions is a good thing...but prices should correlate for it to be a good thing.  If they don't it just sucks.

  • I think Pizza Hut shrunk their pizzas

  • Re the cookies - yes! I heard that this year there are a few less in the boxes, but I'm not sure by how many.

I also noticed that when I asked for soda with no ice, they left the cup about 2.5 inches unfilled.  Hmmm.

I guess this is good for my health but still, I want my monies worth.

  • Golden Spoon is actually weighing and giving out accurate portions No I miss the days of the employees who loaded up your cup.

I hope the 5 boxes of samoas I ordered will still be enough for me... Sad

DH had a friend that worked at GS.  He would give us larges with toppings and only charge us for one small and on occasion wouldn't charge us.  I miss those days since he no longer works there. Not because he was fired or anything.

  • The food is not shrinking.
It seems smaller because we are getting bigger.
  • I saw a news story on this months ago.  Because of the rising cost of everything, the restaurants were cutting down portion sizes without changing prices.  I think this is a good thing and hope they don't up the portions again if/when the economy turns around.  When 2/3 of our country is now considered overweight or obese, portions need to be smaller.
