Have you been to an at-home sales event party lately?
If so, what kind was it? Did you buy anything?
I've received a few invites to some in the past few weeks and I'm wondering why the sudden influx.
Re: Have you been to an at-home sales event party lately?
not me.
but i understand the "sudden influx" - people are hurting for money and looking for every way possible to make some.
I would say the influx is due to people needing an extra income.
I have been to a few pleasure parties but usuallly dont buy much if anything.
I would imagine it stems from recent job losses.
And no, I've only been to one, years ago and I've vowed never to go to anything like that again. I hate hard sells/high pressure sales situations.
I know when I was a "Stampin Up" consultant, I didn't host any formal parties, just invited some nesties over to stamp as a group. And I passed the catalog around to see if they wanted anything but I didn't make any $$ off of it bc I used my discount for them to buy things.
I might go to one of the parties bc I'm curious to see the goods but with my current budget I don't think I'd buy anything.
Me either. Although I did get tricked into one once.
I thought I was going to have lunch at a friends house. All she did was talk about Arbonne products.
Ditto.
Parties are supposed to be fun.?
I have a good friend from High School that is a SAHM and she had these nearly twice a month for a couple years. Southern Living, Pampered Chef, Tealight, you name it. She lost TONS of friends because of it. After awhile, everyone avoided her emails and calls because her friendship seemed to center around making HER money. It STILL to bugs the -ish out of me that she can't understand why her friends disappeared......I had to lay it out in plain english for her one day and she was still baffled.
My friend sells tupperware so I got invited to one of her parties. I've also been invited to Pampered Chef and a candle party.
My friend wants to host a "naughty lady" party. We have some conservative friends and then some who have no shame, so it'd be an interesting party.
They still have Tupperware parties? I thought that stuff ended when people started to buy Ziploc containers at the grocery store.
My thoughts exactly! I can't believe the prices of tupperware.

MIL went to a pampered chef party a few months ago and had a good time, but she said that the products weren't anything special. you could pick up stuff at williams-sonoma or even target, i'd think.
i'm giggling at the memory of the monkey at the stampin' up party i hosted many moons ago. so awesome.
?on google chrome so just visualize the crying guy <here>
this is very true.
