Sherwin Williams?

I love Benjamin Moore but I hate driving to Harrisburg or Lancaster to get it.  I noticed a lot of girls use Sherwin Williams, what do you think of it?  I love that BM has low volatile paints and I am just used to their color swatches.  I guess I am off to SW to check it out later today.

Do they have sales?

Re: Sherwin Williams?

  • SW was/is all we use.  They do have sales usually around holidays...memorial day, 4th, labor day, etc...  I often see their sales on the back of coupon books in the Sunday paper.  What are you painting?
  • I honestly couldn't be happier with my Sherwin Williams paint.  My mom swore by them while I was growing up and when we first bought our TH I tried Behr and the coverage sucked.  The have low VOC and "green" paints (Duration Home and Harmony).  I love the Duration Home which is washable and super durable so that's what I just used in our living and dining room after using it for our kitchen the other year.  Dawn is right they usually do sales around the major holidays plus if you join their preferred customer program you get email notices about the sales and you always get a certain % off your products.  If you know someone who has the entertainment books you should look in their for coupons.  I used a couple in combination with my preferred customer discount and it saved me quit a bit.
  • My FIL is a professional painter and they only use Sherwin Williams.  He swears by it and hates when customers request something else for them to use.
  • I ended up going to the paint store my friend uses in Shrewsbury, they sell BM but I actually got a low voc Pittsburgh Paint.  I never knew picking out white trim paint could be so hard, there are so many shades of white!  Now I just need to paint trim, a window a night and I will soon be done.
