Help Me!!

So they put me in charge of getting a retirement gift for my co-worker and I have to get something engraved.  Which of the following wording is right:

"For 33 Years of Outstanding Service & Dedication at UC Riverside"

"For 33 Years of Outstanding Service & Dedication to UC Riverside"

I'm leaning more toward "at" but I'm not 100% sure.  Please help my brain is fuzzy, I'm stressed! Confused

Re: Help Me!!

  • Thanks Kristy, that's what I thought...but I feel like I'm losing my mind these days.  My co-worker is retiring and with the budget cuts my boss keeps telling me they might not be able to hire anyone in her spot, hence leaving me with one advisor to 800 student ratio and I'm stressing out about getting all my work done. Indifferent
  • Eek! That sounds like quite a work load.  That's so sad that your co-worker is being forced into retirement. I hate this economy.

  • They sound fine, but I would go with "to" because he/she was dedicated "to" his/her job.

BTW, I am UCR alum...Class of W '01! I love my alma mater. I met my DH on the steps of the Rivera Library.

    I would agree with this

  • Why not take out either service or dedication to make it more simple...

"For 33 Years of Outstanding Service to UC Riverside."  or "For 33 Years of Outstanding Dedication to UC Riverside."  Just an idea...

  • Um...I didn't wait long enough to get more responses...But I got her this:

And this is what I wrote on it:

    "Her Name

For 33 Years of Dedicated Time and Outstanding Service at UC Riverside"

Sound okay? Hmm Everything effin came out to $143!!! OUCH!

Really Irma?  How awesome!! Big Smile

  • I do retirement crap for work all the time, "at" is correct.
