Need help with menu ideas..

We are having a housewarming party in two weeks and I want to make a bunch of appetizers (maybe something more for dinner) for our friends and family to enjoy. It will be an open house, so people will be coming and going starting at 3pm. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. So far this is what we have:

Drinks: Non-Alcoholic Punch w/sherbert, Beer, Wine, Soda, Water

Appetizers:  Buff Chicken Dip, Onion Dip, Chips, Veggies, Stuffed Mushrooms, Deviled Eggs.

Entree: Not sure what to serve since people will be walking around and hanging out. But it is near dinner time. Any ideas?

Dessert: Choc Chip Cookies, Cheesecake, Red Velvet Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Icing.

Re: Need help with menu ideas..

  • how about baked ziti for a dinner option??
  • How about some sort of pasta?

And..Am I invited?! haha, the appts sound good! Have fun!

  • That sounds good. I am thinking a tray of baked ziti and I can put roast beef in my crock pot for sandwiches. Thanks again!
  • I think baked ziti is a good option. I did crock pots with roast pork and meatballs/sausage for our housewarming. I got them from Botto's with the rolls - it's not too bad price-wise. depends how many people.

yum - this food sounds yummy! especially the desserts. Send leftovers over my way..haha.

  • mmmmm the menu sounds really good!  Ziti is always a good option!
  • thanks for your suggestions!

Toni- I have yet to go into Botto's. I might have to go check that out this weekend. We finally don't have anything planned so we are going to look at paint samples and roam around our new town. I am excited!

  • I would say to serve roast beef and meatball sandwiches because you can keep them warm in the crock pot.  Otherwise, a hoagie tray might be a good idea.  Something that won't go bad in the mean time.

I think you did a good job on the appetizers!

  • Botto's has a decent Italian Market. And their catering is pretty good, too. I've used them, and my mom used them for a party in the summer. The restaurant is also good. And my shower was there! So I guess we're fans of Botto's..haha. Their bar area has a separate menu - they have some good sandwiches if you're ever looking for a casual meal and some drinks.
  • What about stuffed peppers?

I found this recipe for zucchini. Almost  "fried" but the are baked with breadcrumbs so it's better for you. Cut them into sticks, bake them, serve with ragu/spagatti sause. Easy to make and fun to eat.
