I feel like I only leave the house for work and church any more. I want to get out and do something this weekend but I just don't know what. I was thinking along the lines of a museum or zoo or something. I checked out events in Harrisburg, Hershey and Gettysburg but I just can't seem to find anything. Any recommendations?
Re: Where to go?
Hershey has the new museum "The Hershey Story" that you could check out if you haven't already. The have a cafe' in there too that you could go to for lunch.
I know what you mean about not getting out of the house. I have total cabin fever and am SO ready for some warm weather.
I feel like it's so much harder to get out in the winter time!
I agree with PP about the Whitaker Center. They usually have a neat exhibit or a good IMAX.
Last weekend DH and I needed to get out of the house, so we drove to the IKEA in Maryland. It took us about an hour to get there (there's one in Conshohocken which may be closer depending on where you live). We bought some things for the house and stopped at the Towson Mall for dinner at the Rainforest Cafe...which is now closed! They also have a Cheesecake Factory and other way too expensive, but fun to look in stores.
When I'm tight for money I like to go to the West Shore Theater in New Cumberland for a movie. Tickets are $3.00 on weekends and $2.50 on Tuesdays. The concession stand sells snacks and drinks for a good price as well. Dingeldine's Bakery is right across the street and they always have amazing food/desserts!
I haven't checked into it before, but a teacher at one of my schools recommended plays/performances at HACC. I can't really say anything about this, but thought I would suggest it in case you are interested.
Hope you find something soon! I can't wait for Spring!
Amy I second the new Hershey Museum. I have yet to go but a good friend of mine said it's wonderful.
The Home Builders Show starts this weekend if that interests you.
The Lancaster Science museum I heard is good too.
