Are you giving anything up for lent?
I think I will try giving up the following:
- soda
- chocolate (with the exception of dinner tonight)
- hard liquor (wine is OK)
Re: Are you giving anything up for lent?
No.

Some people in our office are talking about what they are giving up even though they are Jehovah.
ssinca - I couldn't do that.
My job

Soda (I'm a diet coke-aholic. Need one everyday.) and Chocolate.
I gave up caffeine. I'm DYING right now, I'm all sweaty with a headache, total withdrawals.
Oh yay! It's create-your-own punishment time of year!
No,
Non-practicing Catholic
you don't actually have to be catholic to participate in the sacrifice. our church is a non-denominational christian church and our pastor encourages us to do this every year
i think i might follow ssinca's lead and go with cutting out cursing. ooh. that might be harder than chocolate.

I refuse to give up chocolate, especially around easter.
hello? it's cadbury mini egg season!
Oh really? I thought it was a strictly Catholic thing.
I was never any good at that, anyway. One year when I was still living at home I gave up ice cream but still ate frozen yogurt. My mother did not approve.
What she said.
I havent given up anything for lent in a long time. If I gave up sushi and alcohol, is that cheating?
One year while I was in college, I gave up playing solitaire on the computer. I ended up with straight As that semester. haha
I'm giving up nesting/ using my computer while eating breakfast ( one of my really bad habits). I'm also giving up my time by adding more community service.

A Likable Lutheran,
P.S. Catholics, don't hate me!
