  • I gave him my top 3 choices and I got my top pick so I'm happy with what I got

  • I'd keep the stone but re-set it. However I am married to the sentimental schmuck and won't
  • I picked mine out so I will keep it.

  • I voted other.

I didn't pick it out and I am not that sentimental about it, but I wouldn't change it because it is fine.

  • I didn't pick it out but, he has really good taste and I love it. Plus, I'm a sentimental schmuck.
  • I didn't pick mine out. ?

I should just leave it at that.?

  • I picked other because he picked it out and I love it.  We had not even discussed rings before so I'm quite impressed he did such a great job.  I am also sentimental so even if I had not been thrilled I probably would not replace it.

He normally has fantastic taste. ?And I dropped a sh*tload of hints before he bought it, but something was totally lost in translation. ?<sobbing>?

Ack.  I have to agree that he has great taste and normally gives you anything your heart desires.  Lucky!

  • Well, in defense of your husband, jewelry is difficult.

Mr. Monkey lucked out. All I wanted was a round solitaire on a plain band.

    Pretty hard to screw up.?

    ?

That's what I wanted too. I made sure to point that out in many magazines.?

  • we're both sentimental schmucks :)

i just made it clear what shape i preferred for the stone, and left it at that.  he proposed with it set in a plain platinum band and then a month before the wedding, he said "okay, pick out the setting you want and let's go get it."

didn't have to ask me twice.

  • We shopped for bands together ahead of time, and he also went to a lot of trouble to get the diamond from a diamond broker. It touches me that he was looking at all these diamond specs to find the "perfect" one for me. I would be completely devastated if anything ever happened to it.

    So yes, I'm a sentimental schmuck ?:)

  • I changed mine a bit.  I upgraded my diamond last year.  I bought it from Shane Co. so they give you the full value you paid and you don't have a minimum you have to spend, so we just keep gradually upgrading it.  ha
