What can you tell me about Sicklerville?

Hi everyone!  My sister and her fiance are looking at houses in S. Jersey--they work in Philadelphia.  They found a house they love in Sicklerville--what can you tell me about the town?  Pros, cons?  How far of a commute to Philly?  Thanks so much for any information you have!!!

  • im here now. what area depends on if it is nice. about 30 minutes to philly. if you tell me where in sicklerville i can help you more.
  • Thanks for responding!  The only thing I saw was that it was in High Pointe Estates?  I don't know anything about it--it was built in 2006, so it's still new.  Do you know anything about it?

  • According to the builder's website, it's in Winslow Twp...from what I understand their schools are pretty average.  The commute to Philly is about 20 minutes without traffic...any given work day it could be up to an hour, especially on Route 42 during rush hour.  I used to live there and take the PATCO speedline into town.  It used to take me 15 minutes to get to the train station in the morning.

There's a new shopping center going up right along Cross Keys Road.  There area is pretty populated with retail stores, grocery stores (there's several within a small area), banks and gas station.

  • Sicklerville has some beautiful homes but the school district isn't good....my cousin works in it and it's not good.  FI and I were just discussing this b/c the homes are amazing there and a lot less then in turnersville or sewell but they have better school districts and that's important to us
  • great info guys, please keep em coming if you have anything else!  I don't know what their kid situation is going to be like, I'm not sure if they are planning on having kids for a few years at least.  I will mention the schools to them though--it should be something they should consider if they plan to stay long term.

  • If they will be driving into work, they can plan on a very long commute to and from the city. ?Route 42 and 676 can get really jammed. ?
  • Have they thought of coming north a bit?

Where I am is a 15 ?minute commute to Philly.......Burlington County: Riverton, Palmyra, Delran....lots of good towns. Let me know if you need more info.?

It's also something to consider if they plan on selling before they have kids.  It could effect their re-sale.
