Bridal Shower Brunch...

What should I serve besides fresh fruit and croissants?  I feel like there should be more food than that, but I'm having a mental block.

 Thanks for any suggestions!

Re: Bridal Shower Brunch...

  • Quiche (Sams has a mini quiche that's pretty good)

I would have a nice assortment of muffins, bagels, etc. to go along with the croissants and make sure to have several types of jams and cream cheese.

You could also serve a spiral sliced ham (to keep it simple) as your protein

Some nice chesses would also be nice, but I don't really think it's needed.

Also make sure to serve mimosas Big Smile

The fruit is great - make sure to have a good variety and lots of fresh strawberries!

  • Baked french toast!
  • Just a few thought starters for you!  Hope this helps.......
    • Chocolate covered strawberries
    • champagne grapes (grapes marinated in champagne)
    • mini muffins
    • egg casserole/quiche
    • mimosa's (to drink)
    • coffee cake
    • cinnamon rolls
    • bloody mary's
    • hashbrown casserole
    • bagels / english muffins
  •

a simple brunch menu would be:

    • the fruit - definitely
    • croissants w/jams & butters - or you could do a croissant baked french toast
    • an assortment of sausages - chicken & apple, maple, etc. - they sell some really interesting blends now
    • quiche or fritatta - have to have eggs
    • oj (mimosas  - a must), coffees & teas

you could add smoke salmon on mini bagels, roasted potatoes or another potato dish

  • You can do a salad bar, my friend & I just threw a shower last night and it was so neat looking. ?We had large clear vases & bowls that were all different sizes and each one held something different (lettuce, carrots, radishes, cucumber, tomatoes, cheeses) ?we tried to get all the different colors. ?It was very colorful. ?Since yours is a brunch the bowls & vases can have lettuce, mandarin slices, nuts, berries. ?It can be more a fruity, nut salad with a raspberry vinaigrette dressing.

I agree!  Strawberries are my personal favorite and I've noticed they are usually the first to go.

I definitely think more bread choices like pp mentioned is a good idea, along with the spreadable options.

I like the idea of baked french toast, but that seems a bit complicated for your menu so far.  Plus, you'll need a server to help keep it warm.  Ditto for pancakes or mini waffles.

GL with your menu and keep us updated on your decision.

  • Pick up some chicken salad (or make your own) to go with the croissants

Petite Quiches are my go-to for showers, sam's has a great selection.

Some sort of morning bread (muffin, cinnamon rolls, etc)

Don't forget the champagne and orange juice!

  • I am doing a bruch next weekend.  Here is my menu:

Mini quiches (they are very easy to make)

    Hash brown casserole

Mini muffins (choc chip and blueberry)

    Fruit

    Bacon

    Sausage

    Assorted Bagels

    Champagne and OJ
