Life Insurance

Do you have a life insurance policy for yourself? If so, which company did you go with and about how much per month does it cost?

I want to look into getting a policy now that we have the house. My DH has a nice policy through his job but I don't have one right now and I would never want to leave him with our bills if something happened to me.

Re: Life Insurance

  • We both have life insurence through work and through a private company.  I don't know how much it is per month.
  • We both have it thru work, but I think we're going to look into a supplemental policy when the baby comes. I have no idea what the costs are.
  • I don't, but we're looking into it.  My BIL works for Prudential, so we'll be going through him when we're ready.  Not really sure of the costs yet.
  • I have one through work. We are trying to decide if we should get one for DH. I don't see a compelling enough reason for him to have one yet.  He doesn't work and everything is in my name.
  • we each get it though work, however when we have kids we will purchase something that will cover us more..
  • My DH has one through the Army that is wonderful and I have a policy through my employer that covers one year's salary.  We are looking into getting supplemental policies through USAA for both of us.  The prices vary depending on the type of policy (term or whole).  It's usually a slide scale though. (Ex. $1.00 for everyone $1000 of coverage)  You should look into your homeowner or car insurance companies first...many will offer you discount for having two or more policies with their company.
