Re: Tuesday Poll - Heating Your Place?

  • gosh...and our master is the coldest room in the house.  even if we have the heater on you can't really feel it.  i def wear socks, sweat pants and a sweater to sleep.
  • I try not to turn on unless I feel like my body parts are about to start falling off. The heater spikes my allergies, so I stick to socks and blankets ;)

  • DH refuses to let me turn on the heat. He thinks "we live in south Florida, we don't need heat!" Of course, he has no qualms about turning on the AC in December when I'd rather have the windows open. I just don't get that...
  • We (DH) attempted to turn on the heater during the last cold front, and the smell was horrible!  I told Dh there was no reason for it to get turned on.  Usually, the coldest the A/C will read is 70 degrees, which is w/in my comfort zone.  Any warmer, and I get wreched hot flashes when I wake up.

  • I am always cold so I have a portable heater at my desk at work.  I also have a portable heater in my bedroom so that it just heats up my side of the bed.  We do not turn on the central heat because dh has a fit.  But lord knows I can't live without my portable heaters.

  • We dont have a hearter core in our a/c unit, the former owner put in a new a/c unit after willma and didn't but it in, so even if I wanted to turn the heat on I can't, but usually I just snuggle up with the dogs or DH and put some socks on.

However DH did get me a portable heater for when I get out of the shower when its cold and one to put in the dinning room for Todd b/c he sleeps in a create and he gets cold.

I love when I can just have the windows open in the house, the a/c gets too cold for me sometimes. So the windows stay open even when its 75 outside.
