We got good news & bad news today.
Good news is that baby is doing well and everything is measuring as it should. The baby's heartbeat is in the 160's and it sounded wonderful!
We won't get an ultrasound until 18-20 weeks when we find out the gender.
Bad news is that I run a high risk of having a C-section due to my pelvic bone being flat and not curving like it is supposed to. The doctor said that there is still a change I could deliver naturally but it doesn't look good. She said that she would tell me now so I could prepare instead of being 34-36 weeks along and finding this out. Needless to say I'm freaking out and I'm very very scared of this. I'm trying to stay positive about it.
Good news - the baby looks good! ![]()
Re: My Doc Appt.
I'm so happy that the baby is doing well!!!!
I have to have a c-section too. I know how disappointing it is to find that out. I really wanted to deliver naturally. I read a lot of stories of twin pregnancies being delivered naturally. And it was disappointing when my dr said their practice does c-sections for all multiple births and will not consider delivering naturally. I'm hoping that things change for you and you are able to deliver naturally. But a c-section wont be so bad. Like Mandy said, you can pick your baby's bday. I know a few women that have had them and they recovered fine and were up and around in no time. But I know what you mean about feeling disappointed. I felt that way for a few weeks.
Or some of the other horror stories! (Sorry Kristin if you're delivering naturally...if you are, don't think about the horror stories!)
This is great news...just a tiny little bit of not-so-expected news, but still good!

I'm so happy to hear the baby is doing well! That's great news
And everyone is right it won't be so bad if you have to have a c-section. There is a chance I might have to have one as well if my placenta doesn't rise. The recovery time is a little longer and it is surgery but doctors perform c-sections all the time. My SIL had one with my niece and is getting ready to have one on Friday with my nephew and she tells me they aren't that bad. The benefit is the being able to plan your baby's arrival into the world! So it won't be that bad! I think Caro had a c-section with Cate so you could details about it from her.
I'm glad to hear that the baby is doing great! I can't wait to find out what you are having.
Take it from me C-Sections aren't that bad, I promise!! I was up within 18 hours of having Cate, they say thats the trick, the sooner you get up (within reason) the better you feel. My recovery wasn't bad after that, just try hard not to sneeze or cough, that's when the pain really sets in. I think the worst part for me was getting into the shower, I had to sit down on a seat and have John help me but I felt so much better for it, it was worth the struggle.
The morning that I was due to have Catherine, I had a good breakfast, went and had my hair done (more to keep my mind off things, but to look good in pictures too
) and then went for a little walk. My SIL who delivered naturally ended up with a 4th degree tear, that recovery was A LOT worse than my C-Section.
If you girls have any questions or concerns let me know, I was really disapointed when we were told that I couldn't deliver Cate naturally but I think I'd opt for another C-section over a VBAC the next time around. Oh and my scar has almost faded.
Thanks everyone for the reassurance - it's made me feel a little better about the situation.
Caro - I'll be keeping your e-mail handy for questions!
Take it from me, the tearing down below is not fun! Because I didn't have time for the Epi, they had to give me a local a few times down there before they started sewing. Also, I was shaking so bad from just giving birth (natural reaction) that I was afraid she was going to mess up. I think that scared me much more because I was afraid to use the bathroom and possibly rip out stiches.
ON a happier note, I'm blad the baby is doing well
I'm with Mrs. Towny, I freaked out when I saw your faceboook status and ran here to make sure everything was ok.
I have heard from many people that c-sections are not that bad! I am so happy your baby is doing good!
