Re: D's worst nightmare
"I just hate the image that we give to our kids that if you're beautiful, you're beautiful and you don't have to be smart,"
Oh yeah Barbie is the reason women feel this way. Jessica Simpson and Paris Hilton have nothing to do with it.
ITA!
Living in SoCA doesn't help either.
WTF.
Barbie probably saved my childhood. I don't think I would have an imagination if it weren't for playing with those busty dolls for hours on end.
I love it when people try to blame everyone but the parents.
Amen, sister.
Personal responsibility is becoming a rare commodity these days...
I was a Transformer girl myself, but I liked the occasional Barbie.
I'm guessing the man behind this bill doesn't know much about Barbie. If anything I think Barbie can be good for little girls. Barbie has been in the military, in health care, education, etc. How many other dolls have the kind of background?
Even though I'm opposed to banning a toy for such a stupid reason, the bill should be aimed at dolls like Bratz. Those dolls are aimed more towards an unhealthy self-image. Ya know, with those giant heads and all.
