Dentist Appt.

Ok, first I'll admit, it's been almost two years since I've been to the dentist, I just got busy after the move and hadn't sat down and found one here in RI and then all of a sudden it's been a year and a half since the move. Well today I called my insurance company to find one in my area, I was able to find one right near my house, lucky me they had a someone cancle so they'll see me Friday morning, thing is I'm 29 and I've never had a cavity, or anything for that matter and now I've convinced myself that I have one and I'm all freaked out that the new dentist is going to scold me for not coming in sooner, the thought of any work on my teeth really freaks me out, i'm such a baby. On a positive, if I like the new dentist they take children and said I can schedule apointments for the kids too.

I also scheduled with a new GYNO, I'm not looking forward to that either, but that's not until the end of the month. I've been such a slacker on this stuff since the move.

  • Good luck at the new dentist and gyno! I know how you feel about changing dentists and being nervous he'll scold you for not going in so long. I went about a year and a half without going because I was nervous about finding a new dentist. But it was much easier then I thought and he didn't even scold me!

You can't undo the past so there's not use in him scolding you!

  • When i went here it was about a year and half since mine too. I was all nervous but prepared to be lectured and really i should have been to. He was so nice and never said anything about it. I know what its like trying to find new gyno's also. For me its not fun either and even harder to find a good doctor because i know no one here so i just have to wing it.
  • Good luck! I always get nervous before going to see the dentist.  You will be fine.  :)  And the gyno is never fun.  But it will be over and then you wont have to worry about it for a whole year!!!!!!!! Lots of good vibes to you.

  • I seriously have a phobia of the dentist.  I make them promise that if they see a cavity that they will not poke at it and just leave it alone.  I seriously will not open my mouth until they agree to it.   Yes, I'm a grown ass woman acting like a 5 year old.  I too haven't been to the dentist in 2 years and I really should, especially after having David.  I need to schedule an appointment but I'm afraid I'll come out with a million cavaties.
