Woah! Earth almost hit by asteroid yesterday???

Holy crap. Did anyone hear about this? I know I am chalked full of all types of weather events lately, but i just saw this link.

 http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3032619/#29497795

For those that cannot access the link, Brian Williams was on MSNBC last night reporting that we came WAY too close for comfort with an asteroid. It missed earth by 45,000 miles. (which is closer than the moons distance).

The asteroid was the size of a 10 story building. Scientists say that the strength of Impact would have been like 1000 hiroshima strength bombs had hit the earth.

Experts had no idea it was coming at us. That right there is the eerie part of the story for me.  Gave me goosebumps. I don't even want to think about what would have happened. Eeeeek.
