  I live off tums. They're definitely safe, just be careful because they can make constipation worse. Drink plenty of water and avoid acidic foods!

  Tums are fine. I also find that a spoonful or two of ice cream helps (combination of the cold and how dairy helps coat the esophagus and stomach).

  Heartburn/acid reflux has become part of my every day life. It doesn't matter what I eat, when I eat or what I do. It sucks.

  @bridget0117 It's been my go-to since I'm not a fan of Tums. It works pretty much every time.

  Someone told me to mix a tablespoon of baking soda in a 1/2 cup of water... Then chug. Her OB/GYN suggested it.

  Glad to hear it! I have to admit that in addition to the relief it brings, I don't mind the excuse to have some extra ice cream.
