  • I've been doing ok, getting to the gym 2-3 times a week.  I think I need to add some work out DVDs when I have time to work out, but not hit the gym.  So I'm dusting off my old Jillian Michael's dvds.  Thinking about doing power sculpt tonight... grr!  I am feeling stronger and I am upping what I'm doing every few weeks.  I'm up to 10 mins on the bike (I need to warm up my bum knee), Arc Trainer (kind of like an elliptical) 20 mins, Strength training, AT 20 mins, walking 10.  I might up AT to 25 next week.  When I get to 30 mins each, i'm switching one AT with C25K.  I may be heavy, but I'm going to be a health, strong heavy.

    Scale went up, like 3-4 lbs jump up.  I thought it was TOM, but it's staying up and pissing me off.  I also caved and brought some more bigger size jeans.  This weekend, H told me he's been all over me because he knows I'm self conscience of the weight gain, and wants me to know he loves me no matter what.  It's sweet he knows I'm feeling blah, but every time he brings it up, I tear up.

  • I'm doing ok. I've struggled with food this week. H has been on an italian food kick, and I'm having trouble not eating too much. We have been walking 4-5 days a week and I am still getting in some workouts in the morning, so that is positive. The scale is going nowhere, but I will not give up!

  • I have zero motivation to work out lately.  I have a friend to workout with on Tuesday and Thursdays after work, but lately we've had 101 reasons to not meet up.  We are working out tonight and I'm excited about it.  I also have a coworker that is going to start working out with me on lunch.  That should help, I always get really close to my goal but then get really bored with working out.  It's a vicious cycle.

    Food wise I'm doing really good.  Well other than last weekend.  My goats were at our county fair, and it is really hard to be around cheese curds and not eat them.  I'm still battling the same 5 lbs.  Today I'm at the middle weight of those lbs.  I didn't bust out the tape measure though.  I'll do that tomorrow.

    Mana, are you weighing yourself after a rest day?  I've noticed that I weigh the least after a rest day when my body has had a chance to recover.  Working out does make your muscles retain water.  After a rest day you lose that and it will give you a better idea of what you weigh.  I was driving myself crazy before I made that discovery.

  • I am re-joining this thread. I still have to wait until my PP appointment to get cleared to workout but i have started walking and watching everything that i eat, breastfeeding always makes me hungry but i am making smart choices. I gained almost 60 lbs being pregnant, my body is just used to gaining weight so the doctors said there wasn't anything i could do as long as i wasn't overeating, i was just always hungry....i was able to work out for most of my pregnancy until the last couple months bc there was just too much pressure down there that walking hurt!!
    Well after birth i automatically dropped 28lbs but i still have half to go and at 5'1, 30 extra pounds is not cute!!
    so here is to being accountable again and checking in every week=)

  • @seipel12 - I weigh in randomly, I haven't found that post work out weight gain in the past.  I weigh in this morning and my last work out was Monday. I'm 3.2 above what I weigh last week pre TOM.  Maybe I need to up my water and see what happens.  I haven't really been getting as much as I usually do. 

    I'm trying to get H to work out with me tonight at home.  His text bacck - ummmmm haha.

  • I've been doing good, although I haven't been able to make it to the gym since last Thursday.  We went out of town for the weekend and had too much to do last Friday before we left.  This week has just been insane at work and we haven't been able to leave until 5:30ish.  We have my stepdaughters this week and have to pick them up by 6 from day care, so there's no time to go work out.  I'm going tonight though, no matter what.  I'll probably have to drop H off at home with the kids though, so he won't be able to go with me.

  • I haven't been terrible eating wise.  AF is visiting and I have still kept myself under control.  Monday, I went for a walk with a friend and to get ice cream or frozen yogurt.  It was supposed to be after lunch.  I had planned to skip lunch and get plain frozen yogurt with a fruit topping.  We went to Haagen Daz first...I got a chocolate shake, but that was my lunch, so in my book it's ok.

    I haven't worked out this week but I did buy new sneakers yesterday, so now I don't have an excuse.  I worked this morning, but now I'm just laying around.  I could go to the gym, but I'll save it for tomorrow.  I was supposed to take a hot ballet barre class yesterday.  AF was heavy and I had cramps and the thought of being in a 100 degree room made me cringe.  I rescheduled for Friday.  Monday I am definitely getting on track since I have sneakers now.

    He worked out with me, power sculpt, but I could tell he didn't want to. I think I'm going to focus on the gym and not worry about time lost with him. I thought I could try and do both at the same time.

  • So, in case anyone cares, H and I had a good talk tonight after the work out debacle. I think now he understands just how much losing weight means to me. How he makes me feel torn between time with him and meeting my goals. And how I just want him to encourage me instead of hinder me (like wanting to eat out tonight rather than work out). We used to do stuff together, like walk and ride bikes, hike... But now we watch TV and or eat. So he says he going to the gym with me more, we will see. I'm ok going alone, just without the guilt trip, and more encouragement to go and he'll be home waiting for me.

  • I care! I'm glad you were able to talk about it and see each others points of view. I. Proud of you for wanting to do it for yourself. I feel the same way with H, it's nice when he walks with me or works out, but I'm not going to hound him to do it.

  • I'm back to the 10 pound mark as of this morning. I'd been stubbornly hanging at 201 for like, 5 days and it finally went down to 200 today! Woohoo! Here's to hoping it's still there (or lower!) tomorrow! I haven't been doing much in the way of eating or exercising, but I've been more active since trying to get my classroom together and walking around the school, etc. Tomorrow's my first day! Eek!

    We will see how if things change.  I have my gym bag packed for tonight.  I don't need him to go, just not say "why don't you come home and cuddle with me"  etc.  Of course that is better than sweeting it out at the gym for 1-2 hours!

    @xxjen015 - WOOHOO Almost One-derland!  YOU CAN DO IT!

    @Seipel12 - So I worked out last night, and this morning I was down a whole lb.  Haha maybe it's the opposite for me.

  • @WillyH19 - yes I do.  I'm good once I get to the gym and I feel amazing afterwards!  But geez I try to talk myself out of when I change at work... and my drive there haha.  So any little excuse like cuddling makes it really hard for me to go.

    @Mana8503 I care also.  Josh (I get so sick of saying DH all the time because I feel like I'm calling him a D-head) and I have gotten into it about time lost from me working out.  We've come to an understanding, but the issue hasn't completely disappeared.  He still gets pretty mad when I get sucked into a book and then work out because he gets not time with me. 

    @xxjen015 Congrats!!  That is awesome, let us know when you break the barrier!!

    @willyh19 I love the post gym high!!

  • @Seipel12 - I'm kind of glad I'm not the only one dealing with this!  It's hard, because H's new schedule (I feel like it changes monthly) is 5p-5a Mon and Tues.  So we don't have QT between Sun night and Wednesday night (we maybe see each other 10 mins in the morning).   The rest of the week we see each other at night until I go to bed and he goes to work.  And he's off Sat and Sun night.  There have been times in our relationship where we didn't see each other all week because of HIS work.  We dealt with it... so why care about and hour or two a few nights a week?  Why does my schedule always have to be moved and shuffled for his?!  I just asked for encouragement from him, and understanding. 

    There's always a trade off and it seems like it's always me trading off my goals to see him more.  I should add, he must have realized this, and asked to meet me for lunch today (him trading off his sleeping time to see me), but I really can't leave work until this project is done. But the thought counts!

  • I've lost 3.4 lbs the past week, I think AF helped. But I've stayed on the eating healthy path.
