Baby Kicks

So I intermittently have felt movement since last weekend.  Sometimes constantly in a day and then hardly anything over the next couple of days.  I know that's normal so no biggie...

Wednesday while sitting in court, I felt three little kicks.  It was definite and I felt it from the outside with my hand too.  It was on my right side - probably Baby A.  Then yesterday while sitting on the ferry, I felt three more little kicks.  This time it was on my left side so probably Baby B.  This time I lifted up my shirt (the crackheads that ride the ferry back and forth didn't notice) and I saw my stomach pop out so I know I wasn't imagining.

So my question is...is it weird that both times I felt 3 kicks (pr punches or headbutts or whatever) as opposed to 1 or 5 or 2, etc.?  Is 3 a typical pattern or could it be something else?  I just thought it odd that they both would have done 3 (especially if they were different babies) so maybe what I thought it was, was not it at all?

Re: Baby Kicks

  • I can't answer your question but I love this post.

  • I think the obvious answer is that your babies are already OCD and 3 is the favorite number for all things. That should be fun.

The less obvious answer may be that there are actually 3 babies in there and took his/her turn kicking you in exactly the same spot. Have fun with that option also.

(Clearly I have no idea, but I love baby kicks.)

  • I think it is definitely baby kicks/punches and that you are just overanalyzing because that is what us Mama's do. Yay for feeling movement! :)
