Fabk, Rev and other NR fans.
So I'm reading Divine Evil, which I believe came out in '92. Both main characters smoke. She hasn't put smokers in her newer stuff (well not very often at all). Do you think it was a sign of the times and that's why she did it? I just finished Genuine Lies and smoking was in that quite a bit too. Just curious since NR seems like such a leader that it seems weird to think of her just following what's popular or accepted at that time.

ETA: @RevJen and @pinkybooklover09 The quote feature messed up but I'm responding to the comment about the Bride Quartet series.
I read all but 3 nr books before30. I can't get my hands on them.
As for the smoking i noticed that as well. I found her original characters annoying and whiny. She made a dramatic shift (imo) in the nineties shortly after devine evil.
I couldn't tell you off the top of my head.I have a database (hello nerd!) But its upstairs on my comp snd i am restricted to the main floor for the next few weeks. Rev maybe right. It may have been the in dreams series that the female leads became awesome.
