Organizing Kindle Books

Do you have different collections on your kindle?

What are the collections you have?

I have 20 pages of books....I really need to organize them. Looking for inspiration.

This is what I have, and it keeps it to one page for me:

    Business/Finance
    Children's
    Classics
    Cultural/Historical/Memoirs
    Games
    Love/Romance/Family
    Misc.

  • What is this organizing that you speak of, and can you do it on the app?!

I have over 1000 Kindle books.  The "Manage Your Kindle" page apparently can't even load them all and stops at around 650, so even if I search for some of my oldest titles, they don't show up. (If I go to the individual product pages, thankfully it recognizes that I own them.)

I don't know about the app, but I have the Kindle keyboard, and on mine you can create "collections" and then add your books to the collections.

This is what I do too. The app is a disaster though. There are no collections on there. :/

  • I did it on Kindle Keyboard too before it broke.  If I had multiples by an author, I would add a folder with that author's name.  Otherwise I would just arrange it by genre.

  • I have a Kindle 2nd Generation and love the Collections feature.  I have them organized into the same categories I have for my real books:

    Biography
Borrowed (only while I have them)
    Children's
    Essays
    Fiction
    Humor
    Mystery
    Poetry
Read (I move them here until I can enter them into my reading catalogue)
    Reference
Samples (this is the only Kindle specific category)
    Teen-Age
    Travel
    Anniversary
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

  • Collections make it so much easier to organize all your books.
    I have:
    Romance
    Mystery
    Thriller/Suspense
    Paranormal
    Fiction
    Classics
    Romantic Suspense

I have one collection for each series:
    Harry Potter
    Game of Thrones
    Hunger Games

And a few favorite authors collections.

  • Thanks guys!

I ended up pretty much going through my books and making collections based on what I actually have.

    I ended up with:

    Biography/Memoirs
    Chick Lit
    Children's
    Classics
    Cookbooks
    Dystopia
    Fitness
    Harry Potter
    Historical Fiction
    Kindle Stuff (user guide, etc)
    Nonfiction
    Romance
    Sookie Stackhouse
To Be Read (all the books on my kindle that I haven't read so I can find these easily. Before, I would also end up having books on like page 20 that I hadn't read yet.)
    Travel
    Young Adult

There's quite a few collections but now all of my books are in collections...I think it works a bit easier for finding books.

  • I only have a couple of collections but it helps. Of course I only have like 4 pages of books.

I have Read. Fiction. Non Fiction. Baby. And then collections for the books that I have the complete series of. (Beautiful Creatures, Narnia, Wicked, etc)

I have read, and different series or authors.
  • I didn't even know that this was a thing.

  • My collections are not fancy at all. The books i have not read yet stay un-categorized.

I've just got Series, Finished, and Samples.
