Boxing Lessons

Brinley has been saying for a few months that she wants to take boxing lessons.  So far I haven't been able to find any and even if I did, I'm not sure boxing is appropriate for a 4 year old, but I was thinking karate may be a good option.  Anyone's little ones take karate?  Do they like it?  I haven't even looked into it yet, but any ballpark figures on cost/month?

Re: Boxing Lessons

  • I'm curious to read the responses to this; we've looked into karate/tae kwon do for Jake recently, and I initially had a bit of sticker shock at the prices!  The place closest to my house, Young Brothers (which I believe is a chain), was around $110/month and required a one year contract.  First of all, that's a LOT of money.  Secondly, I really have no desire to commit to a full year of anything with a 5 year old.

I did find another place in Shaler that was much more reasonable, it's $45/month and you can take I believe up to 3 classes/week (or less).  Month to month payments, so no contract.

  • there is a karate class in moon that is $45 a month but I think you need to be 6 years old.
