Return Address Labels

So, I'm doing my baby shower thank you cards and I realized that I only have a few "Erin and Jeremy" or "Our Last Name" address labels left from our Save the Dates and Wedding thank yous.

I do however have a few sheets of ones from my bridal shower thank yous...but they have my maiden name.  We also have a bunch of just H's name that we got free from some charity or another.  I said I would use either my maiden name ones or his...but H said that is dumb and I should just handwrite the return address after I use all of the ones that have both of our names.

I personally could care less what someone's return address label says and wouldn't care if it was their husband's name or their maiden name...but he's weird about that stuff...he used to handwrite his name on all of his mail before he got ones with his name...

What would you do?  Handwrite them or use the other ones?

Re: Return Address Labels

  • I find it wasteful to dispose of perfectly good printed ones. Is he upset that it's your maiden name? Why would he be weird about using ones with just his name? I'm sure i'm missing some back story.

I hand write my return address but I rarely send out mail.  If I had return address labels I would use them regardless of what name they had on them.  I cannot for the life of me remember what I did for my wedding thank yous but I hand write the addresses on my Christmas cards every year.

  • Glad I'm not the only one who wouldn't care :)  I may just use my maiden name ones...especially on some of my friend's thank you cards.  He's not one of those people who cares about my name, so I'm not sure what the big deal is.  And I guess he thinks since they're from both of us (mainly me) they shouldn't just say his name...but its not like I'm signing just his name or something to the inside of the card.  I don't mind writing out thank you cards or Xmas cards...but I despise handwriting the return address or mailing address...

  • I would definitely use the other ones for my friends' cards!  I agree with @mzovoce; it would be wasteful not to.

I wouldn't care at all. But you could always cut off the name and just put the address part on- your friends will realize quickly it's you!
  • I wouldn't care and would do the married name ones for his family and rest whatever I have.
